Hello, I'm finding that when I'm on the site on my iPad that the site constantly reloads or throws me out resulting in me having to keep logging on. I use safari. Is this a common problem when using an iPad, and is there anything in the pipeline to fix this as I'm sure I'm not the only person to use an iPad to access the site. Thank you and happy day.

Hi there! Your login information is contained in a cookie. So if your browser is set to reject cookies, that is definitely what will happen on the site. Lots of people (me included) use Ipads to browse the site and that is not what happens. Go to Settings > Safari and make sure you aren't blocking cookies.
Hi Lydia, I've checked my settings and I don't have cookies blocked in safari, so very strange. It seems to happen when I'm either swiping to get to the bottom of a very long thread, or when I'm trying to comment on a creation. Sometimes it can take me up to 3 attempts to post something. I also notice it's worse when it's evening here in Australia and early morning in the US.....could more users online make it worse? I don't seem to have the same problem when it's morning here in Australia......evening in the US. Strange.
Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. Happy Australia Day.

Happy Australia Day Helen. You are not alone with this problem. It took me an extra 90 minutes to do notifying for Favs of the Week last weekend. The page refreshed everytime I tried to leave a notice. This problem has been getting progressively worse since Christmas, I wonder if it has something to do with all the extra advertisements.
It never occurred to me to report it here, I just figured the site server was overwhelmed.
Edit. I just read your comment again Helen. I never have to log back in, the page just reloads.

My brain must have been melting yesterday. Jayne so sorry for calling you the wrong name yesterday, I had been admiring Helen (helekins) Aussie day card.

I'm also having problems with reloading. It happens all the time, when I am trying to type something to post, reading posts, scrolling... Whatever. It doesn't kick me out though - just reloads the page. Same error message every time.
Another thing you can try is to clear all site data for Safari, and re-log into the site.
Here are the steps:
1. Click the "Settings" icon
2. Scroll down and click on "Safari"
3. Scroll to the bottom and click on "Clear History and Website Data"
4. On the confirmation screen, click on "Clear History and Data"
5. Go back to your main screen, open Safari
6. Login to the site and make sure the "remember me?" box is checked.
Thanks!
Tyson

Are you Ipad as well? I frequently use my Ipad and haven't seen this yet.

Yes, I am. I only resumed using it recently (was using a laptop until about a month ago). No issues on the laptop but have had this issue repeatedly with the iPad.
I just followed the recommendations on the previous post. Let's see if that helps.

LOL....Happy belated Australia Day Susie....no probs. I did see the post and thought that you must have been thinking of Helen as I also saw her card online. Hope you had a great day yesterday.
Happy weekend.

Hi Tyson
I clear my safari data regularly and still it throws me out. It only happens when I'm on the iPad and particularly when it's morning in the US, hence I assumed it was the number of users online?
It mainly reloads but sometimes I'm logged totally out
Thank you for attempting to find a solution to this problem and it does seem as thought it's users who are on iPads.
Happy day

I get the reload page on a regular basis on my iPad too. I'm set to accept cookies and I regularly clear the history. The other day I got the reload page on my iPhone, that was a first. I've never seen it on my MacBook.
Happy Sunday everyone....I've been on the site approximately 90 minutes and it's reloaded the page 14 times (and these are ones I have counted). It's just thrown me out whilst I was typing this comment, and previously I've lost my comments twice and had to retype them which is very frustrating. :-(
Make that 15.. It threw me out again when I pressed advanced so I could preview this post.
It doesn't seem to like me making comments when viewing the gallery and usually throws me out when I'm doing a quick reply comment. I've now learnt to press advanced as soon as I can and to edit there ;), but still it beats me :-(
I look at this site 99% of the time on my iPad. I never upload from my ipad as the site just doesn't seem to be able to cope with it
Hope you can find a solution as it seems I'm not alone with this problem. Thank you for your efforts. Happy day

Hi Tyson, I will record the number of reloads while I am sending notifications for Favourites of the Week. I am using my iPad, have followed your instructions at Post 7 and SCS is the only site I have open.
Between 11pm and 2am Eastern time USA, I sent 18 notifications, 7 of these reloaded.
After the page has reloaded and I paste the notification, when I click back to the Favourites thread tab, it goes back to the top of page, not to the position where I last notified.

This thread is now reloading, this is my 3rd attempt.
At 4.30pm Eastern USA time it took 8 minutes to send 3 notifications. Site is slow, and each post reloaded several times. I did the next 45 minutes of notifying using my desktop computer with no issues.
At 9pm Eatern USA time i tried iPad again. 3 notifications all ok, but have had problems with this quick reply box I'm currently typing into.
Hope this info helps.

Where I was only having the reloading issue, it has been closing safari completely today. When I open Safari again, it goes to my favorites and I am able to open SCS without having to log in again.
This happens on a fairly regular basis to me Adriana. I usually occurs after numerous reloading of pages.
You are Ipad as well? We are scheduled to have a VB upgrade today, so we can see if that changes anything. I know of a few issues with Ipad and the gallery as well, so after the upgrade if nothing changes I'll put all these together in a ticket for the forums.
Hi there Lydia, thanks for all those links. I shall try Chrome and see what happens. After reading all the Apple support info I think it's Apple and my iPad. Who knew that a 4 year old device was considered old!
I held a small memorial service when my 18 year old Nokia phone died, so if Apple think I'm buying a new iPad, they've got another thing coming!
Thanks again for your help.

I'm with you Susie, my iPad is the original and I don't have many problems with it and I'm not buying another one until it absolutely kicks the bucket LOL. I have no problem with the site when on our Mac.
Happy day

Well, I don't have an iPad and I have just had to reload twice. I'm android, chrome.
But you're saying you had to reload, Kathy, intervention from you? The girls are talking about pages refreshing automatically so that they lose whatever they were in the middle of typing. It's so frustrating when that happens.

Yes, sorry. I get a reload page and I have to click to reload. Only a few times. Different issue.
