And just in case you didn't, it would be FANTASTIC if a new window would open when we click on a card in the gallery. Thanks so much for the link to personal galleries from profiles!! Awesome!!
Leslie
I always right click cards in the gallery and open in a new window. Works great. (sorry if this isn't what you mean)

Jami, Are you talking about going from thumbnail to the large picture. I always double click on the thumbnail and it goes to the big one. Should I be doing a different way?
Okay - unfortunatly, I was wrong and I am STILL suffering from the problems with posting! My paragraphs are still running together in one big paragraph. I made a copy of the page like was suggested, and I am not sure who to send to. Honestly, this is frustating me sooooooooo much that I am about to forget about this site for a while!! I see no end in sight and it frustrates me WAY more than I need this time of year. Sorry to vent - which is really not like me - but I have already pulled out half of my hair!!!!

just attach it right here. even better, you might start a new topic in this same forum and attach it to your post. maybe that way we'd see if others are having the same issue?

Tnx,
Yes. Right click on the thumbnail and one of your options will be "Open link in new window". Click on that and you have the large pic in a new window. Does that make sense and does it help?
Don't know if this has been mentioned (forgive me... I didn't read through all 10 pages of this thread!), but we still can't download our favorites as a zip file. Just thought I'd mention that... I LOVE this feature (back when my favorites gallery was small and it actually worked for me) and would love to be able to do it again so I can manage the samples better, but now there are far too many in there to download them one at a time.

Yes Jami, it makes since, but it takes more time kind of don't you think when you can just doulble click on the photo and up it comes. I'm not sure  I'll have to try it again. I just did. It seems like it isn't any faster and it takes more time to me. What do you think? Is there a reason I should be doing it that way? I honestly don't know if I should be doing one way or the other is the reason I am asking.
It seems as if the links at the very bottom of the "about" page the contact us and the calendar do not work.... when I try to email you that way earlier today it did not work so I did it through yahoo... Thought you should know

Hmmm...in the long run I find it faster for making comments. I don't lose my place or have to use the little arrow on the back button to get to where I was in the gallery and while a comment is processing I can go back to the thumbnails in the origianl window and even open another card. It's a double click vs. a right click & left click - seems to take about the same time/effort. For me I find it a lot faster and more convenient. Not sure how everyone else does it? Maybe we could start a thread to ask everyone.
I just had to try this, I usually have a bunch of browser windows open (cable), and you are right, this sort of creates its own track - which is useful for the way I use it. I can't tell you how many times I've gone "back" but in the wrong thread, lost the one I meant to save, etc. etc.
Neither is correct, if you just want speed and tend to not be doing a million things at once, or can keep track better - I get distracted a lot - so I think I'll start doing it Jami's way, opening a new window. I really just never thought of it.
I'm always glad when SCS opens a new outside link in a new window, because I have closed that page from the red X, and sometimes when it didn't open a new window, I obviously closed SCS and had to pull it back up, find the thread, ....
Again, it's just personal preference, I think. I think Shirley's is quicker. But in the long run, for ME, Jami's will be more useful and save me a headache sometimes.

Thank you so much Jami. That's what I wanted to know.
So I went did the rignt click and selected open in new window. I had been just clicking on open. Now I see and I agree with you. Thank you so much. Duh me! Always learning. I am computer savy by the school of hardknocks and sometimes I really miss the shortcuts. Thanks again for your help.
You are right about a link. There may be a lot of people out there doing it my way. Probably not. It really isn't as fast. Your way is faster and I think the gallery would move faster too maybe.
When I leave a comment on a card in todays additions-I can't get back to todays addititons. When I hit my back button I keep coming up with the card I just commented on. I then have to go to the home page and start over? Thanks.
Also thanks for all the time and energy you guys put into this site - it is GREAT!!!
What browser are you using, and if you know what version, could you post that information? The "Edit" button functions different than the other buttons, by editing the post in place, as opposed to directing your browser to an entirely new page. Your browser either doesn's support this inline editing, or there is an incompatibility between SCS and your browser.
I'm working off IE 5.0. It's the only way I can get online. We have tried to update to higher working OS, but having trouble connecting to internet when we do, and other browsers don't support this program.
If it is the browser, is this something with the new "renovations?" Just wondering if I should keep hosting or not. thanks.
Okay, this morning there was a post in here about the Resources page and I replied that I was having the same issue and now both posts are gone. What happened to the posts? Is the thread closed now?

I split the thread so that that major error will have its own thread.

Okay. I didn't even look to see if there was another thread and I wasn't automatically subscribed to it so I got confused. Thanks for the clarification.
Things have been great! However for the last few days posts are all out of order on HYEN. Not a huge deal, but thought I'd mention it.
Hi, Jami! It's been happening on a lot of the threads lately. :( That's a communication issue - the site's spread over three servers, and for some reason, they're not talking nicely anymore. I'll email Daven & Scott to see if they have a solution yet.

Hi Jenn! Thanks. Not a big deal, but it is kind of like talking in the twilight zone sometimes.
I am still having trouble - I leave comments on a card and then it won't let me go back. It keeps showing me the card I just commented on?? I like to leave praise, but have found that I'm not because of this! Help!!

Have you tried right clicking on the thumbnail and opening the card in a new window? This way you never need to go "back".
You're welcome! I know how thrilled I was when someone told me to do that! Happy New Year!
Hi Jami,
Yep, I'm still up! I wanted to thank you also, for the tip about right clicking on the thumbnails in the gallery...sure makes things move along alot
quicker when I want to leave comments & get moving along to the next one!
I have been a member for months now, but I can't get logged in. I got a new computer, hooked it up, got new internet access and everything. I'm now ready to go--without dial-up for the first time. Wahoo!
But, there's a problem. At the top of the page where I think I should have a login name and password box, I only have the name. Since I can't type in my password, I can't get logged in. Duh. So. What's the problem?

RE: Right-clicking to open new window when viewing gallery and
scripting errors
I hate to beat a dead horse, but I still think it would be easier if a click (mine are single...somebody said double?) in the gallery to open & view a card would automatically open that card in a new window, just like it does if you click a link to a card from a forum thread...it always opens in a new window. Same thing. That way if you forget & accidentally do a single-click (opening that card in the existing window), then comment & X the window, you won't have to start all over with a new browser window because you just closed your main one (that can take you back to wherever you've been) instead of just a secondary window with no back buttons. Am I the only one that does this?
Also, EVERY time I open a 2nd window to view a card, I still get 2 scripting error prompts (very frustrating when I can see part of the beautiful card back there & keep having boxes pop up that I have to close before I can fully view it). Is this my computer or a site/server issue? If it's my computer, can somebody tell me how to fix it?

I get those two scripting error boxes as well! BUT, only on one of my computers. I don't even pretend to understand that one, lol! It just started happening all of a sudden last week. Nothing changed on my end that I know of.
click where it says "user name" and put your username there. the second box is for your password. could that be the problem?
Daven,
I finally found a way around it. The problem is, I only have one box, not two. However, I noticed that while I was typing that email, the screen that I was on DID have the two boxes. So, I back arrowed to that screen, typed it in, and it worked. Since I have it set up to remember me on this new computer, I don't have a problem. I do wonder, though, why I didn't have two boxes to begin with. Also, is this problem affecting other people as well. I see someone else had a problem logging in. Perhaps this is their problem as well.
I don't know if others are getting this or not and whether it's a fluke in the system or ???, but for the past few days, I've been getting 2 notices that my uploads are approved (not 100% of the time, though -- just mostly). It's not a big deal, since it's an easy delete. Just thought you'd like to know.
Also, without reading through this whole list to see if others are still experiencing this. When I click on a small image to make it bigger, most of the time (again not 100%) I get a blank square with no image & the bottom bar says Done, but there is a yellow triangle with an exclamation point in it. Other times, it says it's downloading, but I can wait & wait & it never finishes. Even when I do get the large picture, I still always have the triangle/exclamation point. In order to get the picture to load, I usually need to click on Refresh. Most of the time that works, but again, sometimes I need to refresh twice.
I'm not complaining, just making you aware that there is a problem. I appreciate all the work being done to make & keep the best stamping site anywhere.
I have Road Runner as my internet service & since the upgrade, the site seems to actually be running slower than before.:(
If this has already been asked I am sorry for asking again because I missed it. Ever since the new format on splitcoaster I get an error message every time I view a card. The message is Internet Explorer Script Error. I have to click yes twice so that I can see the card. It isn't hard to do but I was just wondering if there was a way to stop this. Thanks so much for your time.
