Default Editing difficulties

I looked back a few pages and I'm not seeing a thread about this already, so I thought I'd go ahead and ask...sorry if it's a "repeat!"

All of a sudden for the last couple of days I am unable to use Advanced Editing features (like putting QUOTE around text I paste into my post, adding smilies, or using the font features like color etc.). It used to work, and now when I go to click on something, nothing happens (except the text I had highlighted to perform the action on becomes un-highlighted).
Down below "Disable smilies in text" is NOT checked, and my posting rules say smilies, etc. are "On"
The features are still visible, they just don't work!
I can type in things and they will show up (like :mrgreen but I can't click on them...
I also rebooted my computer, and logged off SCS and logged back on...no change.
what's the deal??

hmm, good question. don't suppose you've updated or changed your browser in the last few days? I'm sure you would have tied the two together if that were true.

sorry I don't have a good answer for you!

Well here's my test since Beate PM'd me about the enhanced option:

Waaah, still not working (tried to insert Smilies there).
I don't believe I've updated the browser, unless it did it automatically. I am using Firefox, and I have tried rebooting my computer (therefore restarting the browser as well)...
hmmmm I have stumped all of you??!! wow, leave it to my computer!

Trying again:

HEY IT WORKS now. :-D
I am thinking it WAS a browser issue--because it is Firefox, there are add-ons that do automatically update from time to time so I don't pay that much attention to them. One of them (I have) is "NoScript," and I noticed that Javascript was NOT allowed on SCS...it was never a problem before but perhaps an update came along and interfered with something there. At any rate, enabling Java script allowed the editing features to work.
Whew.
Thanks everyone!
