a) Broke real bad and they're trying to fix it,
b) Broke just a little and low on the priority list,
c) Permanent change and haven't gotten around to announcing it yet.
LOL
We could make it a poll!

all 3 reasons are too sad and harsh. let's hope they are just way behind. and everything will be back to normal by the am.
Sorry for the delay in response. I've been off of the computer most of the weekend . . . lots of company and lots of fixin' stuff around the house and lots of running the kids to activities. You know, typical weekend stuff.

Edit shouldn't be used to "take back" statements and re-write history. We allow editing in some forums so that corrections or clarifications can be made to posts, not so people can say something and then delete it when they realize it should have been left unsaid. You just can't do that in real life, and we've seen a bit of that lately in Fun & Games.
I'm not sure if F&G editing will be allowed again. We don't like to do something that will penalize the whole community for the actions of a few, and will certainly consider allowing editing again, especially if we can allow it for a specific time period, like for x minutes after submitting a post. That will allow for error corrections that aren't caught when you use the "preview post" button.
Let me know if you have any questions or concerns. You know where to find me.
Jenn.... thanks for the explanation...I do miss it because sometimes I type to fast and jumble my words... I don't think I've ever used it to completely delete a post or change it that much... so if we have to live without it I understand.
I'd like x minutes after you post.... that is if I get to vote on it!
I only delete a whole post if it's an exact duplicate of the one before - and then, I put a note that it was a duplicate. It happens rarely, but it does happen.

unfortunately, the "re-writing history" thing is why we lost the edit in the first place. it is so sad that the same thing is happening again. :(
thanks for letting us know why this was done. i do hope we will get it back eventually. i like it there when i need to do an "eta:" type thing or fix spelling errors. i always seem to forget to "preview".

Ditto what Dawn, Debbie and Shell have to say. Unfortunately, I'm just not as good a speller as I used to be. :(

Friends are like the walls of a house. Sometimes they hold you up, sometimes you lean on them. But sometimes, it's enough to know they're just standing by.
i hate that it was misused by a few. i have only used it the correct way.
love the idea of allowing for a short amount of time.better than nothing.
also glad you had a family weekend and same fun. we tend to forget that you aren't just sitting here to fix our little problems.

I am guilty of having done that before but not to take back what I said but because it came across differently then I had intended to. It got straightened out and I did change it so that it wouldn't cause trouble in the future. That's all, not to rewrite.
It is a good way to get people to think before writing but I do miss it to correct mistakes too.
