Hello, Daven and crew (and Sean too, of course! :p)!
I'm sweets4ever (Jean) on Leah's team at craftster.org. I wanted to stop by to see how you were all doing and, well, just introduce myself to a fellow NM site!!
I've been a member of Craftster since January '05. I became a Moderator in April '05 and then an official employee of Craftster in November '06. This year, I joined the NameMedia team.
Reading through all of your encouraging posts to Daven and crew are WONDERFUL! As far as the worries regarding change, you are not alone! Your reactions are totally natural -- after all, this is your home away from home, right? :p We experienced many of the same reactions at first (myself included), but the acquisition has been really great. NameMedia brings lots of ideas and resources to the table (Sean, for one!).
I had the pleasure of going to Boston in June (we have a yearly "Moderator Meetup" and this year's location was Boston, woohoo!). I got to visit the NameMedia facility and meet Sean and crew in person, which was awesome. They are truly a great bunch of people.
Anywho, I tend to babble, so I'll be on my way now. ;) Nice to meet ya'll!!

Congratulations. After having read the announcement, I certainly can understand how News Media can help SCS. More importantly, knowing how much work goes into the behind the scenes type of things, I hope this will help the moderators and everyone else that works behind the scenes.

I have to say that I am so glad Sean keeps posting responses in this thread. It is obvious he has a good sense of humor and can go with the flow. It also shows he understands what we are going through and is trying to help. He is going to fit right in on SCS! (Still waiting to hear from Brandy so we can rope her into our little crazy world here!)

Are you serious?? I grew up in Bay City. OHHHH, its a MUST, you need a trip up here!! Not only Bronners, but there's a stamp store in Clare ((about an hour west of Bay City))....and they advertise 20,000 stamps in the store!! I believe her estimate is LOW.....hehe!! Also, if you're BIG on yarn.....she has the BEST selection around!!
OHHHHH, say you're gonna put those plans into the works!!
I live right in the middle of the lower peninsula (the Mitten) about an hour from Bay City and 30 minutes from Clare. I'm in!! The store in Clare is called Apple Tree Lane, Jenn, and you should check out their site ~ they list most of the companies they carry.
Maybe Jenn can check out the Michigan Minglers thread in Events ~ they have a couple lined up and I do believe the next big one is in ....drum roll... Bay City!!
