Default heat and stick powder vs embossing powder

What is the difference? What are the different uses of heat and stick powder? I'm familiar with embossing powder, but haven't tried the heat and stick powder. What's so great about it?

Heat and stick powder is for glitters. You use craft ink or versamark on an image, then sprinkle the heat/stick on it. Immediately after you heat it up (it heats up faster than embossing powder) put your glitter on top. The glitter stays on amazingly well! It's well worth the money if you use glitter a lot.

It's sort of like "hot glue for cards." You can glue on a great number of things while it's still hot enough...
Gold leaf (brand name is Fashion Flakes)
Sand
Microbeads
Glitter
Cotton balls pressed onto it leave behind a nice fuzzy look.
I think that someone on Splitcoast mentioned adding Kool-Aid to make "Scratch 'n Sniff"

I think of it as "Sticky Powder". Melts faster than regular EP, so have a care not to overheat it? Remove the heat immediately when it turns "wet" looking. If overheated, it will lose it's tacky properties, harden, and nothing will stick to it.

Use any time you want the following to stick to your stamped image:

Flock
Glitter (any color) (If used over Craft Ink, with Irridescent Ice EP, it will reflect the color of ink used because II EP is made from a clear EP base--very cool!)
Sand
Microbeads (altho after embossing, you may wanna coat it with a thin bead of Crystal Effects for a really strong bond, because the beads are "chunkier" and might fall off if handled?)

I'm sure there are other items you could experiment with and see if those will stick well to Heat n Stick EP as well? ;)

Thanks! Looks like it's pretty neat. I guess I'll be adding that to my next order.

Julie covered a lot but didn't mention foil. I had some given to me and applied it with heat and stick. I have seen the foil in the stores but don't remember a price. It comes in flat thin sheets and you lie it on top the sticky heat and stick and rub it on. Comes in varies colors.
