What stamp set are you using for your Christmas cards?
I have finally decided on a stamp Christmas set. I decided on Happiest of Holidays and a couple of the wheels. There are some beautiful examples in the gallery using this set. It makes me want to order Happy Occasions and the wheels now. What set are you using? Do you pick one set design of card and make all your cards from that one? I think I'll only use that set buy do a couple of variations on it. I love the jumbo wheels so that is one reason I decided on this set.
April
Do The Hula as we will be living in Hawaii by this Christmas (we move in October). I'm going to start soon after I get my set. I feel like I sound nuts starting this soon but with moving, have my stuff packed up, other things to do, I still want to send out handmade cards so I think I'll have to do them soon.
I stamp Christmas cards for my work and our employees. Last year I made 125 and I'll probably have to do the same this year. I like to mix up the stamps that I use to make cards. I'm going to use some of the sets that I used last year but I'll also buy some new sets (my employer pays for the sets and supplies in exchange for my time to make them). I like some of the wheels that were in the holiday mini catalog last year and I'll probably end up buying some of them for this years cards. I know I should start making them now, but I just can't bring myself to make them when it's 90 degrees outside. I'll start around Halloween.
I am planning on making the bulk of mine with Snowflakes (you know, the set that's been in the catty since God was a boy but I STILL haven't bought?), so I need to get that ordered. I've been wanting it forever. I also have a bunch of Christmas-y House Mouse stamps that I like to use too.
I'm waiting for Madonna and Child to arrive on Friday!!! My dh wants me to do some cards with Noble Deer and make them winter-y for his friends at work. I would like to have them finished before school starts, that way, I'm not in a panic like last year!!
I'm holding out for the holiday mini before I make my decision. But I usually use every set I've ever bought. I get bored using just one set so I do different ones. I definitely will be getting Sleigh Full of Toys. I think it's too cute.
I'm going to use 2 different Penny Black brush stamps and then I am probably going to use my Snowflakes SU set on some polished stone backgrounds. I don't think I can handle making 50 or so of the same card this year. got to vary them!! If the holiday mini has anything to die for, I may make some from that also.

I used shapes and shadows, cased it off of here, made about 60 cards, but I would like to get a more Christ based set for some of the closer family members, just waiting for the mini before I decide on a set.

I usually make about 3-5 different cards. So, I'm going to make some with Holiday Hedgehogs and I'm waiting for Sleigh Full of Toys to arrive. Beyond that, I'm waiting to see the Holiday Mini - I'm hoping there's a great set like "It's Snow Time" - I did almost all of my cards last year with that! It's still my favorite! The only thing I know for sure is that they will be done by the end of September!

I made mine using the winter covered bridge from Changing Seasons. I cut out an oval in Hunter Green CS and layered on top of the scene, Used sparkling snow and copper cording to complete.

Last year I did the Star Swirl wheel. This year I am doing Vine and Berry I think. We don't celebrate Christmas so I try to find something very neutral for the Holidays in general.

I am using Happiest of Holidays and swirling stars jumbo wheel.
I am starting now because I have about 120 to make for our christmas list.
I usually put a pic of the family in the card too.
I think I might actually do Loads of Love. I don't want anything too formal, as our family is still young and we mail to alot of other young families (of various religoius backgrounds). I think the truck with the tree on the back will be cute.

I'm using the Simply Scrappin' Sparkling Holiday set and making pocket cards. There will be a tag on the inside with a pic. of DS and our names. Here are some that I've started on.
I was just thinking about this too. I am kicking myself for not buying "Yultide Montage" from the last Holiday Mini as I love that. I might buy "Snowflakes" on page 54 of the new catty and I also love "Peace and Love" on page 48. AND....I am also considering buying "Happiest of Holidays" on page 49 with a coordinating jumbo wheel. Decisions, decisions...... Oh, and I love "Christmas Carolers" on page 43 too! LOL! So, pretty much what I'm trying to say is I haven't decided yet.

I usually try to use all my Xmas sets to make my cards .. I will defintely use Snowflakes, and Frosty this year. Also Flaky Friends .. and I am holding out for the new holiday mini to buy a few new sets

I am using Star of Wonder, with Barely Banana and Not Quite Navy...I found a couple of ideas I liked in the gallery and am combining a bit of each! Mine are getting made during camp meeting. DS and I stay in our camper (more like a mini house) and I got all the supplies, so I can work on them at night after church!! Kerilou
I like doing a mixture of cards so that they suit the tastes of my family and friends I usually have 5 different designs and use a couple of sets. I'm using Flaky Friends 'cause its still so cute. Snowflakes because it is one of the first sets I bought and I LOVE it, and i'm thinking about a new set, but i'll hold off until the holiday mini comes out so I can see what else is new
I made Miracle of Christmas last year for my son's office. They all loved them so much that I think I will do it for mine this year. I love the set and have used it for other people but never myself, it is time.
I love making Christmas cards, so I usually make some throughout the year, as inspiration strikes. Which means that when Christmas come, I usually have a bunch all ready. Last year, I sent out between 50 and 60 cards and every single one was different. I'll do the same thing this year if time permits.
Which means that I own a lot of Christmas sets and still can't refrain from ordering more! One set that is on my wish list for sure this year is Sleigh Full of Toys. It was the first set that caught my eye when I leafed through the new catalogue. I'll probably use my Yuletide Montage set again this year, too.
Oh my goodness. This is my first SU Christmas, and I guess I'm going to have to make a hodge-podge assortment too. I have put many of your cards into my favorites, and have gotten great ideas. I will be using the tall skinny tree from Lovely As A Tree, and today I just got A Child Is Born. I also have HoHoHollidays, Snoflakes, Changing Seasons, and for my seashore friends, I think I'll use one of the Coast to Coast and then use the skinny stick tree from Loads of Love. The only thing about making a variety of cards is that when it is time to mail them i will agonize over which card to send which person. I did that last year. I dry-embossed with the Lasting Impression stencils, and I loved them all, that i wanted to send one of each of them to everyone. haha! My daughter is getting married at the first part of December, so I really need to get her wedding invitations done (dry-embossing, no stamping) before starting on my Christmas cards. Not to mention I'm in the middle of packing up my house and will be moving in the next couple of weeks. oh dear. Way too many cards to make, not nearly enough time. i do hope everyone will post samples of the cards they make. (But maybe I shouldn't look until I'm all finished... or I'll be changing my mind... again!!!) I love this gallery, and I've learned so much. I've spent way too much time looking at ya'll's stuff and buying stamps. Now I gotta get busy stamping my ownself!!! CathyB

i am doing "thanks snow much" "flakey friends" and i like to mix things up a little .i know they are older sets but i'm a snowman freak! i also might throw in a few "lovely as a tree" cards...those will be awesome for christmas. you guys take care!

I am using the ornament from Take Shape. I am stamping the Celebrate from Wonderful aords, and hanging an ornament from each end. Punching a small hole on each side of the "stem" of each ornament and tying a ribbon or cording bow around each one. I need to find a verse or quote for the inside, but I love the way they look.
I usually make all the same design - maybe change up ribbon or the stamp color, but the same design.
I am going to use Merry Minstrels for the 50 or so elaborate cards that I make. Last year I sent out 50 accoridan cards that took me over 40 hours to make, and I have the bar set so high that I feel I need to do better this year ;)
I have not decided what I will do for the other 100 cards that I send out...but I sure have some inspiration from this thread. I usually make 4 different designs in the more simple cards that I do.
I'm planning on using Star of Wonder. Like Kerilou I went to the gallery here for some inspiration, found several I liked, narrowed it down to a couple and will change things around a bit to make them mine.
Two years ago I used the tree and wreath from "Thanks Snow Much" -- the overall design was the same for all my cards, but some had a raised and matted wreath, some the tree, against different patterned Christmas papers. I cut 3/4 of an inch off the front of each card, then stamped either "Merry Christmas" or "Season's Greetings" in the bottom right corner. This was a good way to use up a lot of decorative paper, though not quite enough of it.
Last year I used "Lace Snowflakes" and "Snow Angels" in different shades of blue. Learned my lesson about trying to do most of the stamping in one night too. This year I will be spreading it out! I also did cards for a friend of mine last year, using "Winter Play."
This year I am using the retired "Winter Is Calling" for my cards, and "Etruscan" for a friends' cards. I like to send different ones to each of my nieces and newphew, though, so will be using some of the cards made in challenges for them. My Mom also wants me to do some for her and really liked "Holiday Tag Team," so that will be on one of my first new catty orders. Just waiting to see if there's something in the Holiday Mini she might like more than that one. Even though I'm doing a vintage-style card this year, I'm leaning towards "Santa Post" for next year's cards. But that's months away. ;)

I can't stand to make all the same cards, so I'll make many designs, with several different sets. I know I'll be using Peace & Love, Madonna & Child, and Natures Secret. When I get bored, I'm sure I'll go back to some favorite retired sets like the Gift of Love, Sunny Seasons Greetings and Country Comfort.

I usually go with two designs. I'll use "All Decked Out" from last year's mini catalog and "Sleight Full of Toys" from the new catty, unless something really catches my eye in this years mini holiday catalog. I already have the design done for All Decked Out I just need to come up with something for the Sleigh set. Designing is the hard part. Once I'm happy with that, then it's a slam dunk to complete 84 cards. :p
Well......I do about 70 cards every year...or better...so it will be a mix. I will see what's in the holiday mini, but I also have Peace on Earth, Sunny Season's greetings and Holiday Hedgies (all retired, but whatever! they're still so cute!!) to start with. I will be starting them in August. It's my goal to have them completed by the end of September....wish me luck!
