JUL19VSNC ~ It's Still Rock & Roll to Me ~ Friday, July 5, 8 pm ET
Challenge Title: It’s Still Rock & Roll To Me
Hostess: sunstamper (Kelly)
Keyword: JUL19VSNC
Date: Friday, July 5
I just Love Billy Joel’s music! I’ve loved it since the 70’s and finally got to see him in concert a few months ago. He rocks hard for a Senior Citizen! Anyway, enough about me and Billy.
My challenge to you is to create a card using the oldie-but-goodie Rock & Roll technique. This is where you ink up a solid image stamp with a light colored ink and then roll the edges of the image in a darker colored ink. This creates a cool two-toned image.

I love this technique. So much fun. I did find it's a little tricky to do the technique with mini ink pads which is what I mostly use these days. But I made it work.
Such a fun challenge, Kelly. I haven't done this technique in a long time. Here's my card.

It has been awhile since I've used this technique - not sure the stamps I selected showed it off well, but I had fun exploring my various shades of purple in this card.
Loved doing this technique. I forgot how much fun it was. Thank you Kelly, for a great challenge! What also made me happy was using up some small scrap DSP paper (the logs)!
Kelly, I love your challenge, it brought back some really great memories. The first time I saw Billy Joel was at The Academy of Music (I think) in Philadelphia and we had never heard of him. He was the warm-up for Janis Ian. We were totally blown away with his amazing talent and I became a fan for life. I don't think we even cared if we saw Janis Ian after that or not that night!
Here is my card and I will be singing that song of his for the rest of the day! JUL19VSNC Jaws by sleepyinseattle - at Splitcoaststampers

I think this stamp was just a little too big, because although I did have good ink coverage on the rubber, it rolling it just really only got a good impression of the edges.
such is life.
