Anyone is welcome to play in the weekly Teapot Challenge - the more, the merrier! You automatically become a “TEApotter” the first time you play. Where will you find ]inspiration? Will it be from the teapot or from the challenge theme itself? Remember, your participation in Destination Station is 100% voluntary and not a requirement. Just have fun!
Challenge:Today is National Chinese Almond Cookie day (that's why I've been baking some almond cookies for you). It also inspired me for this tea party. I would like you to make a card inspired by a recipe. A pastry recipe, a flower recipe or any other recipe.
Example: Black forest cake...would you make a card with a forest or would you use something black? A hot dog...would you make a card with a dog?
Red velvet cake...would you use the color or texture?
Destination Station: SCS pvilbaum (Pat) has requested a teaparty for her sister, JoAnn who was recently diagnosed with ovarian cancer. JoAnn hasn't shared her story with anyone other than immediate family. She has just finished her second round of chemo and the doctor is hopeful she will combat this. Everyone is hoping for the best bus understandably, JoAnn can use some encouragement. Pat thought perhaps a teaparty would be just the thing to lift JoAnn's spirits. JoAnn loves flowers, gardening and animals. Spiritual/religious and Thinking of You cards would be a great way to let her know she is being thought of even though she hasn't shared her worries. Send your cards to:

Be sure to use KEYWORD MMTPT559 in your upload and post a comment here so we can all see your card!
Do you know someone that could use some well wishes, encouragement or all around warm fuzzies? Consider nominating them as a guest of honor (a.k.a. destination station) for an upcoming tea party. Post your request HERE or send a PM to jacqueline.
Good morning my dear friends, I've just finished my cup of Tea, I wanted to show you a second card I've made for this challenge, thanks to Anne, inspired by red velvet cake, I've never eaten this cake if someone has eaten or baked one please share with us.
If someone would like the recipe of my almond cookies (thumbnail) I've got it but with French measures you need to convert.
Posting early because I have the dentist after work.
I was tempted by Pecan Turtles but went with Hoot Owl Cookies so I could use the sentiment I chose.
I haven't made these for years. I think I originally got the recipe on a pack of peanut-butter or butterscotch chips . I'd have to find a substitute if I were to make them now: the pb chips are available in a specialty grocer here, but not at a price I'd be willing to pay!
Challenging but fun Anita. I have an idea in mind but am thinking of others...does it have to be a dessert?
Red Velvet cake is big in the south and is popular here in NC - I've never had it and don't care to even try it. It's basically chocolate or devil's food cake with a TON of red food coloring (which can't be good for you). And, red food coloring usually is a little bitter - they make a no-taste red, which is what I use for my cookie icing.
I can't play today but will definitely have a card in the mail to Pat's sister.

I am finally getting to make a card for my sister's Tea Party! One of my favorite desserts is Pavlova and to get nice stiff peaks for the egg whites, I use a copper bowl to
This is my husband's favorite "cake" for this birthday...a Coffee Ice Cream Cake. The three layers...the brownie base, the coffee ice cream center, and vanilla ice cream with added chocolate swirls top reminds me of the layers and colors of my card, but I know the ice cream cake is better!
