I'm filling in for Audrie today - please be sure and give her some love when she returns - and I decided to go back to my word-loving roots with this week's inspiration site - EcoCycled.
I love everything about this website - the fact that it uses old books, the childrens' book illustrations - all of it.
So that inspired my card today, which is attached. (If you want to see a video on how I made the card, see this blog post. Live at 7 AM CST Saturday )
__________________________________________________ ___________________________________ Challenge Goals: Please don't be tempted to upload a card that you have made prior to this challenge, just because an image on the board reminds you of it - this is all about creating from an inspiration. So, please take the challenge of allowing your creative juices to flow based on the images you browse this week. Remember, it can just be the color palette or style that ignites your creativity. Whatever draws you to the designs, take the challenge of doing something uniquely inspired today.
Please remember that all inspiration links should be inspired by the EcoCycled Etsy Shop (feel free to be inspired by the video above too). Remember that your card might also end up on Audrie's Ongoing Inspiration Genius Board too, especially if it shows signs of extra deep inspiration! (smiles)
Use the keyword: IC559 (no spaces or extra characters) when you upload your card, and make sure you put commas between your key words.
For those of you who say you get overwhelmed with having too many images to choose from, or just don't subscribe to Pinterest, I've uploaded a few of my favorites. So just stick with one (or all) of those for your inspiration. Click on the images below to see them bigger and to get their links on SCS. Don't forget to let us know which photo served as your inspiration piece please.
Eek, love all the samples, especially young, handsome Clint! Wait, there's a Clint Eastwood stamp?! I feel like I was just visiting the library! What fun!Lol, this post may not make sense because I haven't had my coffee yet.

At first I was stumped and thought I'd skip this challenge, but I hate to give up, so I went back and looked through the Eco Cycled gallery one more time. Here's my card.

Lydia- awesome challenge, thanks! I just love the Cookie Monster print, so I went with a fussy cut cookie jar image, and stamped my sentiment directly on the newsprint. Added a simple fabric strip/yarn embellishment combo. Here's Cookie Wish

I think I went off just a bit with this site. I started clicking all those places above the site and it took me to a really cool birthday candle page. That's where I got my inspiration, but now I don't think it's from the same EcoCycled site. Sorry about that, but I spent a lot of time creating my card....
So here it is for my DGS in a few days: Birthday Wishes, Shaker Style

Lydia- I was inspired to make a "play on words" for my card, adding some "spilled coffee" inspired elements- all based on this card- Coffee Keeps the Shabby Away.

this does not look anything like what I thought it would when I went upstairs to make it...
funny true story though almost 30 years ago now, we really did go camping for the first time in a little army pup tent that ( not being short people) our feet stuck out the end of it.. ( and it snowed)
Great challenge, Lydia! As a retired librarian, it's definitely challenging for me to cut up books! But I have some discards from the library so can manage to take pages out of them!
I ended up making two cards as I wanted to do one with the image stamped directly on the book page, and another where I layered the image on top. I like the first one the best:
