Hi, my name is Miranda and i was wondering if there is anything that i should know or what the purpose is on this site? Because i find it interesting but i just don't fully understand how to use this site,Can anyone help me?

Hi Miranda, great to have you join us. I was a member for quite some years before I started following comments and asking questions on here. Thats Why my number of posts are very low.
There are lots of reasons to be on here. I will tell you what I get from the forum and others will follow with more or different advise.
Firstly I follow this forum thru Feedly which is an app on the iPad that way when questions are posted or challenges started my app lets me know. I love being able to follow conversations that interest me. It maybe that someone asks a question that I think is relevant to me or I might like to comment or follow the conversation.
I may have a question about something and not sure where to go or who to approach. I ask here and it seems there is always someone who can steer me in the right direction.
There are also tons and tons of wonderful paper-craft items to look at in peoples galleries. You can share your skills with others. You can ask people what they think.
You can join challenges, you can find out when the specials are on. You can look at the brilliant tutorials.
You can use on an iPad or computer or even your phone. You can be as involved or uninvolved as you want. You will find particular people who's style you love and cal follow their boards or go to the their blogs.
Its a sharing caring community and everyone is there to chat, help and make you welcome.
PS I'm in Australia and there are people from every part of the world on here.

Hi Miranda and welcome from New Zealand! As ailhelen says we are from all over the world! I like to welcome new people and help them where I can, I also look at the gallery page (click on Gallery at the top of this page) to get inspiration from other people's cards, and learn different techniques (click on Tutorials at the top of this page too). There are lots of groups you can join and challenges to be part of, all with stamping and/or card making as a theme. If you still feel a bit lost, click on the headings at the top of the page, one by one, and make notes as to what comes up. It does feel a bit like a maze at first but do ask if you have any other questions - we all like to help newbies and not-such newbies!
