Question Need KRAFT CS - any suggestions for LOCAL purchase?

Hi Everyone,

I know there have been great suggestions for purchasing white cardstock locally (say Neenah at Walmart, for example), but I recently placed an SU! order and did not realize that I inadvertently ordered a pack of very vanilla instead of Kraft.

I don't plan on placing an order for quite some time, but was wondering: where do you purchase good quality KRAFT cardstock locally? I guess I could call SU! and see if I can do an exchange, since it's less than 90 days, so we'll see....

Thanks,
Kelli

Michaels has a pack of Kraft cardstock. It is a bit darker than others I have seen, but it is still quite nice.

I use Recollections from Michael's. Joann also has it but found that to be flimsy and didn't like the shade of it personally.

Hobby Lobby has some that is a rich caramel-y color and has flecks in it...

My very favorite is the Recollections Kraft at Michaels. I keep a good stock of it on hand.

I used a bunch of it for one layer note cards as Christmas gifts and it was surprisingly sturdy used that way.

I happen to like that it is smooth and not rough like some other Kraft papers. If you want to stamp on it, your images look great.

Is the Recollections Kraft at Michael's 80lb or lighter?

Stampin Up will do an exchange and it is super easy.
The other thought would be to see if anyone will trade you in the BST forum (under Trade)

It's 65 lb. I use it on its own. It will be similar to store bought cards in weight. Just fine as a single layer or a light layer on top. HTH

When I bought my 110 lb Recollections card stock at Michael's, they had kraft, in addition to white, ivory, and shimmer. Based on the assortment, I think Michael's may be focusing on the wedding card maker.

That means a stop back at Michael's is in my near future I was only able to find the white and cream when I checked at mine, but that was back before Christmas.

I have been buying The Paper Studio kraft at Hobby Lobby and for a few more days it is 50% off. It probably is 65# (it seems a little heavier than that but is definitely lighter than 80#) but it is sturdy enough for me to use for card bases. For $3 sale price for a pkg it is a deal!

Just saw that Hobby Lobby has their Kraft stock 50% off this week and they've got envelopes to match also on sale.

Thanks, everyone! Good to know. I contacted SU! and they are sending me out a package of Crumb Cake (kraft) with free shipping. I had to purchase the pack as it was over 90 days (thought I had purchased it in December, but it was actually April - doh!)
