I've seen the mustache trend around for a while no ant it just isn't growing on me. I was woneeing what eveeone thought of it. It's made it's way to stamping as seen in the new SU holiday mini: http://204.228.150.61/catalogs/flash...mini_en-us.pdf
I think it might have to do with the Steampunk trend that's been going on for awhile but some companies were a little behind in getting on board with it.
It may have something to do with "Movember" as well. If you don't know what "Movember" is ....it's a way to raise money for Prostate Cancer research/cure. The guys grow a moustache during the month of November and raise pledges for the cancer society. Lots of crazy "stashes" out there during that month.

I find the mustaches kind of fun and quirky! We conduct huddles twice daily at work and one morning one of my co-workers made mustaches out of fake fur and passed them out; they were all different shapes, sizes and colors attatched to a stick. It was a creative way to get the day started on a positive note. Seeing the catalog brought back that fun memory!
Thanks for the sneak peek...I am loving the pumpkins with mustaches! I think I may need to get those....
That is funny Angela!
I just thought mustaches on pumpkins was strange and wondered what other people thought.
I think I have hesrd of Movember now you mention it. Sounds fun for good cause!
There's a mustache set in the A Muse catalog, too. I didn't know it was a trend!
Never heard of the thing in November either but thought the office story of the fake mustaches was cute .
There were a lot of 40s style mustaches around town this past winter when community theater put on Miracle on 34th Street -- most women wore wigs but lots of men grew their 'staches and had 40s haircuts, too.

I get a blank page when I click on the link. Anyone else have that problem?

I only saw one stamp set that had mustaches on. That was the pumpkin ones.
Other than that. All the other stamps are very nice. I found a couple that I would like to have. plus Paper.
SU does that a lot, and it sends me crazy, too! There were two sets called Friendship Blooms. Two sets called (A) Beautiful Season. Makes it hard when you're looking for them from the B/S/T forums because you have to specify which one you're referring to.
Mustaches are a popular teen trend. My kids are crazy for mustaches. If you go into Hot Topic, you'll find a ton of mustache products, including t-shirts and temporary tattoos you can put on the side of your finger...put your finger below your nose, instant 'stache!
One of the cute things we were shown to do with the mustache stamp was to stamp and cut them out to attach to lollypops or suckers. You put the sucker in your mouth and you have a mustache! My daughters were loving both the big mustache stamp as well as the pumpkins with mustaches in the mini. So if you have teens in your life, you can make them a card with the 'staches and they will be amazed at how hip you are! ;)
Mustaches are definately a teen/young adult thing. This past year for Christmas, my daughter and two neices (all young adults) all asked for mustache mirrors. These are just small wall mirrors that have three mustaches stenciled into them. When you stand in front of the mirror, you can "try on" a mustache. Weird - I don't get it - but they love it. They loved the mustache stamp sets too.

I don't get the mustache trend in crafting either. Weird that an above poster mentioned some teen girls being "into it". I guess I am officially "old" now! LOL!!
Thanks for the peak at the mini! Some really cute stuff in there, but nothing I can't live without; at least....for now! But I didn't see a pack of Christmas DP that really grabbed me so I will have to look elsewhere for some to decorate an advent calendar.

around here it is called 'No Shave November', but same thing. my guys have all done it since they were old enough to shave, or not in this case. it's really big on the college campuses. the high schools allow the guys to not get penalized (if that happens to be against the rules for that school) during November, too. really cool!
now about that mini..... oh my, am I in trouble AGAIN! ;)
I'm really hoping the Movember/No Shave November gains momentum. Approximately 25,500 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in the next year and about 4,100 will die. (these are Canadian statistics...not sure on the American ones). This is a cancer that is affecting younger and younger men all the time. I have seen many young men in the prostate cancer clinic.
A gentleman in my church died, on Thursday, from this cancer.
So, tell your men about November being the month to recognize this cancer by growing that really bad moustache. And...tell them to get checked.
Sorry for the highjack but this is really near and dear to my heart and maybe, because of this, we will all look at the moustache just a little differently.
