OCT10VSBNB ~ Saturday, October 23, 2010 ~ 9:00 PM EST ~ Over the Moon
Title: "Over the Moon"
Hostess: Nicole (webseitler)
Keyword: OCT10VSBNB
Day/Date: Saturday, October 23, 2010
Time: 9:00 PM (EST)
When I think about being on Cloud 9, I think of times in my life when I've been so happy it feels like I've been shot right over the moon and landed in the clouds! My wedding day was a day just like that. But Cloud 9 Moments don't just come around once in a blue moon... when you look around and reflect on the little moments in your life, you're bound to find some things that just put a smile on your face and fill your heart with a Cloud 9 kind of joy! For me, it's the little things, like the smile on my daughter's face as she learns to read on her own or the way we laugh and joke at the dinner table. Those times make my heart feel so full and definitely shoot me over the moon!
So, here's your challenge:
First, I want you to think of an everyday moment in your life that shoots you over the moon and on to Cloud 9... something that wouldn't be as obvious to everyone as, say your wonderful wedding day--something that needs a little explaining... a precious story that lies behind a photo you have in your stash.
Since we are thinking over things that fill our hearts with joy and LOVE, I want you to use either the color red or pink on your page in some way. This could range from the dramatic choice of a beautiful background paper or just the tiniest pop of color in a flower or heart you add to your page as a final touch.
And while we're at it, let's just go ahead and say that you should also include a heart somewhere on your layout... maybe a sticker, maybe a doodle included in your journaling or in your title.
Good things come in packages of threes! I want you to also use three different fonts, stickers/alphas (or three different types of handwriting) on your page to create your title.
One last thing to incorporate into your design: I want you to use a circle shape in some way on your layout. You could do this with something as simple as a button, a circle piece of paper or photo, or something more obvious, like a moon sticker--whatever works best with the mood and theme of your layout.
1. To be considered for VSBN Recognition, ALL VSBN CREATIONS MUST BE UPLOADED BY 10:00 PM EST ON SUNDAY, OCTOBER 31, 2010 for the mini VSBN.
2. You have 3 hours to complete the challenge (each challenge theoretically produces one page per hour). For contest purposes, 1 upload per participant per challenge will be eligible to earn award/recognition. For example: if you complete 3 individual pages for this challenge and upload each of them to the gallery, you can only win one award/recognition for only one of your pages; the other two are part of the gallery to share but cannot win any award/recognition. If you upload a double page spread as one upload, it will be considered one upload; please do not upload the pages individually or they will not be considered a double page spread. It is the VSBN Challenge Host's decision to award/recognize pages that best represent her challenge based on the criteria in the challenge. Please be sure to write your description of how you interpreted his/her challenge in your Upload Description.
3. Please remember to put in the correct KEYWORD OCT10VSBNB, when uploading your image; a wrong keyword means your submission may not be seen for consideration. Copying and pasting the challenge keyword is recommended to avoid typos.
It is also highly recommended that you post a link to your creation in this chat thread to be sure you layout is seen by the host and all visitors.

HI! Home from the campfire...poor DGS almost made the 20 minute ride home without falling asleep. 1 mile to go and I heard the book he was reading hit the floor! Had to wash hands and marshmellow face before heading off to bed and he's asleep already!
I think I know the perfect picture to use for this challenge too. I'm going to set up DH laptop to chat so I can open up PSE7 to scrap!
Looks like a good challenge for the first one too. I just finished reading all the chat on that one.
Cute page. This reminds me of how DGS is at night before bedtime. He "has" to have cuddle time for at least 5 min. where you sit down with him and watch TV together. Then you "have" to listen with him say prayers or he just "can't" go to bed and sleep. I've learned to give in and do the routine no matter what or I end up paying the price of hearing him whine and complain. lol!
I'm in! I just joined here and missed the first challenge. :(
Welcome to SCS and to VSBN! You picked a great time to start. You can go back and do the first challenge whenever. You have until sunday, Oct. 31 to upload your page to the gallery. there are 3 hours between the challenges tonight so maybe you will have time to do this one and the first challenge before the next one. If not, just work on it when you can.
What a beautiful page Nicole! And sounds like a great challenge. I will start on it as soon as I get my other uploaded. I am in the process of trying to upload my other challenge! That is a challenge! I can't figure out how to create a new album so I can put all these cloud nine pages in one place. Any one know how? Let me know if you do
It only gives me a choice of "none" or to the album I already have in there. I am so electronically challenged!
Most of whatever I know, I have learned here on SCS1

thanks all, like I said I knew what I wanted and had been thinking it over (since I had a little preview to the challenges) just hadn't had a chance to actually do it, and the bird element in MDS was perfect with the cloud, it all sort of fit, and came together so easily and quickly!!
Turning into a pumpkin soon though, sleepy!!!!
So will have to check out the last challenge tomorrow, definitely won't be able to stay up for it, and can't wait to see what everyone else comes up with!

Hello, all! Sorry I'm a little late--rough day. :p
GREAT Challenge Nichole! You're here now and we're glad to have ya!
I just have to switch laundry, make sure my family room is still not too crazy (full of teenagers) and I'll be ready to get started! Oh, I should upload my pages for Michele's challenge too
I'll BRB ...

Sharon, I saw your question on the other challenge thread and answered there but thought I would answer here too in case anyone else needed to know.
Go to your gallery, click "My Albums" on the left sidebar. At the top of the albums box is a link to "Create a New album", click it and set up your new album.

Thank you! I did get it uploaded! I see it in one place but not in another. But I think I did it right! Thank you so much for the help!
Now I can think about this one!

ok, subscribing, but will have to digest this one tomorrow. Looks like a great challenge and a beautiful example. ds2 needs to get tucked in and I think the rest of us are close behind.

Not for "Night Owls" ... I'm just getting started
I'm usually a night owl, but I've been up past midnight for the last two nights with early mornings the next day. I don't how much longer I'll be here. I'm working on swaps though so I'll be a little while longer. I waited until the last minute to do them and now they are due next weekend. yikes! My poor poor cricut is tired!
I have most of my page done-just trying to figure out how to add some other pics to conform with one of Sally's sketches. I'll be around for a while yet.

Michele you are always so busy with swaps! You must really like them? Every once in awhile I succumb but I just never used the pages I got back in the swap once I swapped, LOL! I ended up donating them during the VSBN we sent them to the lady doing pages for another. ;)
I finally just stopped signing up, I always waited and then had to stress too
