Default Sewing on Cards.....Craft Sewing Machine?

Do you have any recommendations on a craft type sewing machine to purchase to do decorative sewing on cards? And where to buy them? Any help is appreciated....what works, what does not, brands to buy, those to stay away from, etc.

I think most uses a regular sewing machine. Mine is a normal one. I like the Singer/Brother. Get one with a few different kind of stitches... a bit above the basic where it just does straight or zig-zags. I also just found that loosening up the thread helps... the thread use to snap mid way before this. I sew more now on paper after I found this out

Here is a thread I started a couple of weeks ago about the Janome Sew Mini sewing machine. It was on sale at the time at Hancocks for only $39.99, but the current sale price is $49.00 I think. Read through the posts to find out about the machine. There is a link there to take a look at it on Hancocks site.

I have a big Singer that I use for regular sewing, but love having this little machine just for paper and crafts. It is lightweight and easy to put on my crafting table when I want to use it.

Although I only use mine for crafts, it is a real sewing machine, and you can sew fabric also and use it for regular sewing tasks. It just doesn't have as many features and stitches as a big machine.

Janome Sew-Mini on sale 9/16 to 9/19! by buggainok at Splitcoaststampers
