Default big shot and static

does anyone do anything to help prevent static when using the big shot.

I only notice it when I am working with smaller pieces of cardstock...they get "caught" in the static cling and move over a little as I am putting the acrylic plate on top. I mostly just grumble under my breath but after seeing your question, I guess it would be sensible to pat the embossing buddy (or maybe some used Bounce dryer sheets?) over the cardstock or maybe the acrylic plate.
