For you veteran SUers, if you were to guessimate how many of the current sets are retired each year, would you say 20, 50 , or maybe a percentage such as 40%?
After seeing an earlier post about the TAC retiring list.. I had no idea it would possibly be such a large list . Wondering if there is an average number retired each year.
I wanna say it was 128 sets on the list last year that retired!!... Keep in mind we DO NOT know what wheels will retire until the new catty comes out and also what accessories will retire.
Darn at that rate of new per year you can't begin to keep up. No wonder I see stamp sets I have never heard of everyday. I suppose they pick the bottom selling ones to retire?
It's hard to say why some sets retire and some don't. I'm sure sales factor in but there always seem to be some surprises. Sometimes they just need to update the look and of course make room for the latest and greatest.
Only 5 more days until we find out which ones are going. The waiting is agony!

I went through last year's catalog yesterday and counted approximately 180 sets that retired -- not including hostess sets or wheels! It was definitely more than the previous year.
I don't know if I'll be happy or sad to see the retiring list -- last year I only had about 10 sets retire but now I have so many more! I just know they're going to retire some of my favorites and I will be sad.
