You can buy their cute pink or blue tools, but a cheap pair of dikes and needle nose pliers is all you need..the BIA and some different sized O wires...

First of all, you want the Pink BIA 2.0. Check prices on different sites. I bought mine for $65. I will find the website and post later. But to get started, you will need inner pages, covers -(but you have to decide if you want to cover them in paper or do you want the canvas style). Next you have to decide what color of owire rings you will use the most -- black, white, etc. What fits your style???? Go with the larger owires. 1/2" for a small book (using chipboard covers and 12 sheets), 5/8" for medium size, etc.

After you get the basics, you can buy the corner rounders, space bar, bag, etc. If you or your DH has wire cutters, you dont need the matching cutters from Zutter.

I love my BIA. This Christmas, I made brag books for my family. All of them were shocked that I made the books!!

IMHO, chipboard stacks are a MUST if you have a BIA! You can make all kinds of things!!!!

I love, love, love my BIA. This Christmas, I made perpetual calendars for all my family using the Microsoft Word template - everyone was most impressed! I'd suggest the machine and 1/2, 3/4 and 1 inch wires to begin. If you are a relatively well-stocked paper crafter, you'll find lots of things you already have (coasters, blank chipboard from the back of notebooks or cereal boxes, card stock and DP) that you can use to make covers and pages for your projects. You won't regret your purchase!

The o-wires are the most important thing to buy right away! I love the small ones and a pack of big ones can be nice to have too, but almost everything fit on the small ones (1/2 or 3/4)

IF you already have coasters or chipboard pieces then you are done! but the DCWV stacks that Diane said those are pretty cool too!

I don't know if you found a great deal yet, but in case you haven't try to check if you have an angel (TAC demonstrator) close to you! or any angel here on SCS so you can get a good deal too!

Love,
Diana

I have a BIA coming and I would like to know will it work with the SU chipboard? It is very thick and I see most people talking about the inserts from packaging.

I saw the Pink BIA at Hobby Lobby today for $64.99. They should have a 40% off coupon soon. Can you stand to wait?

I love my BIA! I bought the Bind-it-All and one of each size of the silver wires I figured that they would go with anything and slowely I've added other colors to my collection. I purchased the bag a few weeks later because I was taking mine to my sisters out of state but she has her own now so mine stays home but the bag is nice o store the BIA in. I got the tool kit as a gift but if I had to buy one I would just buy wire cutters. The book was a waste of money, however some people love it. The space bar for your machine is a must have! If you are like me you need to get a couple of them, I use my bar to help clear out the little bits of paper out of the machine and one bar accidently got thrown away so I now keep a spare bar just in case The bar is nice to do books with that will have the smaller wires the pages trun so much easier, I have forgotten to take the bar out and used it on a couple of books that I used the larger wires for an they worked great also.
Also if you get a chance deffinatly get the pink BIA, if you get the blue on and the clipboard covers you have to punch them before you put any paper or anything on them to cover, I found out the hard way making a baby album for a baby shower the next day and Hobby Lobby was of course closed by the time I started the album.
Congrats on your new purchase you will LOVE it!

Gale dikes are much larger and have both a wire cutter and a crimper on them. Electricians use them.

You want the PINK one!!! The blue one was the first version. Before applying paper on the chipboard, you have to punch it. YOU WANT THE PINK VERSION. MUCH NICER!!! LOL Zutter has done their research and made some nice changes to the Pink version 2.0.

Check out Hobby Lobby. I paid less than $65 for me.

Hope this helps!!!:p

Me, too. I've also punched matte board with the blue one easily. I do wish I had the pink one just 'cause it would be nicer to punch thicker book blocks at one time, but my blue beauty will do me for many years to come, LOL!:-D
