...do I mess up when I stamp an image on a finished card! I practice and practice on scratch paper (which are perfect) then I go to my card and it all goes wrong! It either smudges, doesn't stamp all the way or bleeds!! argh!
I need to start stamping the inside of the card before I make the card!
I always see in video tutorial everyone always stamps last and it always turnss out perfectly! Maybe I am not a very good stamper hehe!

I feel your pain! I do that a lot too. As Kim said, I just stamp an insert then glue it!
I was just thinking that the other day. I was working on a project and messed up a basic stamping step. I thought to myself that I have been stamping, off and on for 20 years (seriously for five) and I'm still screwing up! Not always, but definitely more than I want to! But my demo has a saying that I'm sure you've heard before: there are no mistakes in stamping, only opportunities for embellishment! I just wish that I could avoid embelling sometimes!
I do agree with Blondie though, I have always made an insert of white or off white in all of my cards - it just looks more finished that way. The only time I don't is when the card base is white.
I do inserts in all of my cards, I think it gives it a more finished look. I use good quaility printer paper , fold it in half and then cut it slightly smaller than the card. I stamp it and write my greeting. I place a piece of double sided tape on the front and position it inside my card and close. When you open the card the insert opens with it. Don't tape on the back as it can give a pulled look when card is opened.

I tend to stamp last too and make a mess more often then not. And the worst is when I've spent a lot of time on the card and it looks great other then that last boo-boo or it happens when I'm in a hurry! My go-to solution is to layer something over it - make it look like it was an intentional layer/embellishment! And if the card is a non-white/vanilla color I cut a piece of cardstock (in white or vanilla) about 1/2 inch smaller then the card (the half fold) and put it on the inside back. It not only adds a nice defined space to add the greeting but also adds some weight to the back piece to balance the front (which usually has a few layers and feels bulkier).

I'm not quite understanding how you do this. Do you have a picture? I am very visual!:-D Please show where you place the tape and how your inserts look, if possible. I see so many great examples of card fronts, but it seems there is no source for cute insides. KWIM?
I nearly always stamp the sentiment on last and more often than not unhappy with it. It was either crooked, or more likely didn't come out clearly enough or bled a bit. However my solution now is to always use versafine inks for the sentiments. These are quick drying pigments inks with a good saturation of colour. They are also great for highly detailed stamps. I have had very few problems since starting with these inks.
I often tease that my cards are actually an exercise in covering up mistakes. Put a bow over this and a panel over that. It is comforting to know others have the same issues as I do. ;)

For today's Challenge, the first one I played along with, I had everything all ready to glue on, and told myself, now make sure the card isn't backwards. Glue, glue. Oh, my gosh, it opens the wrong way!!! How does that happen when you try to be so careful! So I feel your pain. I make lots of mistakes!
I like that line about no mistakes, only opportunities to embellish. Good one!
That's kind of how I look at it, too. Sometimes the mistakes mean that I end up with a card that is more layered than I originally intended...I figure it's all good as long as the card still fits in the envelope. And even if it doesn't, I can always make a new envelope.
I will work and work on a card and finally get it to look the way I want and then realize I've set it in a blob of ink so that the back is all messed up. Yikes!
Oh my I can't tell you how many times I have done this, especially smudging, and dropping an inky stamp (or the inkpad) onto a nearly finished card. I do try to cover it up somehow, or make the card looked "distressed" on purpose LOL but sometimes it's easier just to start over....I keep reciting to myself "it's only paper, it's only paper, it's only..."

The way I do this is to cut plain paper about 1/4 to 1/2 inch smaller than the whole card. So if you are making a 5.5 x 4.25 card, cut the paper at 5.25 x 4. Then fold it in half. Next, run a line of glue on the inside of the front of the card up against the fold. Then slip your liner in and stick it down.
Don't glue both the front and the back or it won't open flat.
To do something different, you can run the glue against the fold on the inside of the back of the card. Then that gives you an extra 'page' to put greetings etc. on.
For some really nifty insides, go to www.paperwishes.com. Watch some of the webisodes on their paper kits. They always decorate and show the inside of the cards.
I love decorating the inside of my cards, and spend almost as much time on the inside as I do the front......
