After taking the class about DBWS and online ordering I asked Brent if we would have the ability for customers who could not attend a workshop to add their order DIRECTLY to the HOSTESS of their choice. He said yes! They will soon be rolling out that option! This is great news for hostesses who can now get their out-of-town relatives to add to their workshops.

So does this mean that the out-of-town orders would still be shipped to the hostess, or be mailed directly from SU to the out-of-town relative/customer?

Thanks for visiting My Gallery and My Blog!
I have no idea. I couldn't talk to him at length as others were waiting with
questions about his presentation. I know they are trying to get in line with other DSA companies and other online retailers, so it is possible.

OH MAN if they would mail directly to the customer that would help me so much! Anyone know where we could find out more info. DO we have to have the DBWS to be able to use this option??
Online orders adding to a hostess' workshop will NOT be part of the first roll out of online ordering in the Fall (per DBWS OEX-pert at Convention). The initial roll out will be for individual orders for individual customer orders only.
They didn't want to hold up the roll out by waiting for this piece of the puzzle. So, it's coming, but not as soon as we'd all like!!

Because it's not part of the inital rollout, they didn't speak directly to the group about it. My guess is that if the order is related to a hostess, it will ship with all the other orders for that hostess.
Yes, you will need a DBWS in order to allow/accept online orders. Right now, there's a promotion for them: From July 22 through August 14, all new subscribers to the Demonstrator Business Web Site (DBWS) will receive their first two months of service for FREE--that's a $25.90 value! This promotion is open to all demonstrators who have not subscribed to the DBWS on or after January 3, 2008.
Online ordering info and DBWS info can be found on the Demo Website. Click the Training link and then Online Ordering Information to pull up the info.

I talked to the IT guys about the online ordering and asked if we'd be able to hold "online catalog parties" and he knew exactly what I was talking about because he asked if I meant "like Pampered Chef has". He said this would not be an option when we first go live with our system but that it's coming down the line.....no time line was given......but they know that it's something we want and he sounded very encouraging that we'd see it in the future. As always.......SU! responds to what we are saying that we want!!!!
I don't know if anyone mentioned how awesome the online ordering system will be.......it will not just be a system where the customer has to type in their order numbers into a list as we do with out ordering system! They will be able to click on the item they want to add to their order. They'll also be able to see products in groups, by colors, and other ways....similar to the way you usually shop online...not just in page by page catalog order.
Although many people did recognize me, I didn't have my orange sweater. I put it on to go to the airport and it had a stain on the front-go figure! SandiegoGal said "I thought you were taller" !

I have been wondering that myself, but never thought to ask it...silly me...I'm so glad that we will have that option available to us!
