They made some good choices this year for what to retire and what to keep. I only lost 20 sets in this swipe LOL

I only lost 7 sets 2 background sets. I wasn't all that impressed with this catalog. Only bought 4 times this year. Not doing as much stamping as I have been with work and everything.

Glad to see a lot of things go, esspecially the sets I already have.

How do you know what DP and scrapbooking kit will not be in the next catalog? Is there a list somewhere?

I think the DP and scrap kits will be on the accessory retiring list. however, my demo says that anything with the old in colors will go because the in colors will go.

That isn't ENTIRELY true! Last FW catty, there were some DSP that had the previous years in colors.... Nothing is DEFINITE until we see it!

I did okay -- 10 sets I have are retiring but I'm not a demo so it doesn't matter. Only 2 that I REALLY want (Artfully Asian and Noble Deer) and 8 that I sort of like. I'm really suprised that Peaceful Wishes was on the list. It's always been one of my favorites and thought it was very popular. Anybody else suprised by something?

I'm not surprised by anything. Everything has been around for a year or more so it's time for some fresh stuff. ;)

There are about 10 or 12 that I don't have but can borrow from either my Sis or my friends who have them! Anyone have any insight as to what cat and dog sets SU will have in the new catty? I hope the cat one is something I will like - never liked the current (now retiring) one.

The retiring accessories list will post on July 21st. But they already announced that the Hodgepodge Hardware will retire in the current finishes. And anything with the current in-colors will be gone as well.

Happy Shopping!

Hmm, I'm not a demo, so it doesn't matter in the least, but I have 12 sets that are on the list.

There's only 1 that I "have to have"--amazing to zany. I feel pretty relieved about that number!

well isn't that interesting.

three currently owned sets are retiring, not surprising since I don't own many to begin with.

and of course the ones that are retiring that I want are the most expensive...

so I have decided.. I am only buying retired sets. My demo is having a sale for the holiday w/e, so that makes it slightly less painful. But I am going to wait until the new one comes out to place my next big order. I saw a sneak preview via link from here somewhere, and there are a couple of sets that I WILL have to have, and with all the basics /replenishments I need to get, so I will wait and hope that the next set of hostess sets are stuff I'd like. I already have the one set from this batch....

The Spousal Unit will be pleased that I am not putting us in the poor house. At least, not until August....;)

I have been wanting the wild rose and artfully asian sets for a while, maybe this means I will be able to get them cheaper on ebay after while.

I was actually more surprised by what wasn't on the list than what was. I thought for sure that Simply Said, Heartfelt Thanks, and the Loads of Love sets would be gone.

I just hope that since they're getting rid of Noble Deer and Wildlife Reserve that they replace it with something similar, as in realistic looking, and not something cartoony.

But speaking of cartoony, the only set I am tempted to get off this list is Happy Camper. I could really see myself using that set in scrapbooks a lot.

I didn't care for the yappy dog set. The paws looked like shamrocks. I would like a set like the old Bow Wow. Not so cartoony.

Most of the sets on the retired list I'll be glad to see gone. There were only a few that I might miss. But then, if I already have it, there'll be room for something even better!

I initially saw about 15 sets I liked, and I've narrowed it down to about 8. Now I just have to check with a couple of friends and see if they have any of the ones I want, so I can narrow down further. The birthday verses one (can't think of the name) I am getting regardless, because I've wanted it for ages. I want Block Party, too, but won't get it if one of my friends have it.

The other thing we do is if we all want the same things, we split it up - so say if someone else wants Be Happy more than I do, they'll buy it and let me use it, and in exchange I'll get, say, Block Party and share it with them. I'm going to have a party in mid July, I think.

Too funny! I was surprised by some that I expected to retire, as well! Since I'm a demo I don't buy much off the list, but I also am probably going to get Happy Camper!

I was very pleased with the retired list. I thought the right sets to be retired were listed. In past retired lists, I thought they retired the wrong one. I agree with everyone that the past two catalogs haven't been the best. The images have been very 'symbolic' (if that makes any sense) whereas I like more realistic images that one can color or tell a story with. In other words, I don't like sets like 'Baroque motif' or 'Carte postale'. I did order a ton of retired sets though...because I've always wanted them(I am not a SU demonstrator). I still didn't order all that I want cause my order already came to $180. I love 'Wild Rose' and from 'Amazing to Zany' but they were way to expensive. Like everyone else, I'll have to try and get them cheaper on EBAY. Wish me luck.

Only lost 2 sets and 1 bg. All in all not too bad. Sorry to see noble deer go tho... one of the better sets they had for masculine cards. Not surprised about the rest. I thought a lot more should have been put out to pasture, but hey, that's just me thinking out loud. Hope to see more art style sets and less BIG flowers and circles. LOL.

Default Dormant List

Does anyone know if they have posted the dormant list for the next catalog? I am interested to see which sets that are not being retired will not appear in the new catalog.

Thanks,
