I can't believe it. After all these years, I finally got my teenager to sit down and stamp with me.
The only reason she was willing to do it was because she wanted to make her birthday invitations. It was so fun showing her tips and tricks. I can't believe, after all these years I've been stamping, she doesn't know anything about it!
I even teased her that she must not watch ANY of my videos, since she didn't know how to even ink the stamp {the way I do}.
Now, if I could only get her to stamp with me more..... ;)
Do any of you stamp with your teens? How do you convince them to do it?!?
Stephanie....I just signed up for contest earlier tonight!!! Great site & great product...I own about 6 sets and love their versitility. I think you are great at your tutorials so never give that up - great personality and very enjoyable to watch!!
I have one step daughter that is 13, and she loves coming to visit (they live 2 provinces away) because I have everything that is "in"! LOL!!!

I was diggin' out some older stamps I hadn't used in a while one day last week, and my teenage son actually sat down and started fiddling with some of my Rolograph and Stampin' around stamps!! I thought he just wanted to look at them, but he asked me for some 12x12 paper so he could give 'em a roll!! We played with them for almost an hour. Yeah, I was surprised and stoked....he doesn't want to do much of anything with Mama these days. My youngest (9 yr old boy) occasinally likes to stamp with me, and sometimes I just get out junk paper and say "c'mon let's stamp" (cuz it beats homework!). But when I actually *wanted* them to create a card for Dad, that was a whole different matter (and I didn't care if they stamped, used crayons, or whatever). I guess we just need to ENJOY those moments when they come.

YAY!!
Finally other teenagers that like to stamp!
I am 16 and love it-actually become quite obsessed recently.
Check out my blog. Ill give you the link, but I'm pretty sure it's in my sig. www.teganrebecca.blogspot.com
I've been trying for years to get my now 19 year-old daughter to stamp with me, but I think I've lost the battle. I tease her that she may as well learn to like it, because I'm leaving it all to her when I'm gone!

Thanks so much! Your post made my day! And since you have things that are "in" you REALLY made my day!
I'm glad to hear your step daughter likes to stamp with you! Fun!

If I was a teenager (with income) back when I first discovered rubber stamps, I would've been a teenager who liked to stamp!!
To the OP... I am so envious!! None of my family members stamp - it would be SO FUN to stamp with someone (outside of a workshop)!!!
They are 16 and 12. We usually go to mom & kids crops every couple of months so they can work. I gave them my old (and too small for me) rolling tote and went to my LSS garage sale and got them their own supplies and organizers (scissors, cutters, pens, adhesives, basic stamps) and they have access to all my embellishments and most of my paper. I also went to Hobby Lobby during 1/2 off paper sales and bought large packs of cardstock for them. I recently bought my oldest his own set of inks (1/2 off at HL) cause I'm picky about my SU inks having "messes" on them. Last summer we went to a garage sale that the lady used to work at a local stamp store and she seriously had 1000's of stamps for sale! She was really excited about my son stamping and made us a really good deal on some great stamps. We spent about $45 and got no less then $500 worth of stamps and ephemera. He definitely has his own style and it's great. My 16 yr old has Asperger syndrome (autistic spectrum) so he's more likely to hang out with mom than most teens. My 12 year old prefers to go to crops in the nearby city where he's not going to run into his friends! -Leslie
I was introduced to SU! when I was a teenager - 16 or 17, I think. I really loved it, but didn't have the income and my parents were NOT interested in helping me. So, I played with what I could when I visited our demo-family friend. Then I went to college and was too busy and even more broke. But, I graduated in May 2005, and in August of 2005, I signed up as a demo! So, I guess it is possible to get a teen hooked! ;)

How fun! I hope one day to have a daughter so she can stamp with me. My 3 year son makes cards for Daddy with his very own dino stamp set. He gets a big kick out of it but he is so messy! LOL
My 13 year old DD LOVES to stamp and has lots of her own stuff already. My 15 year old DS actually made something while I was practicing my shaving cream technique, and so did my DH!!! If you'd like to see them, you can click the link below:
My daughter soon to be 17 loves stamping and scrapbooking. She has fantastic ideas and really inspires me alot.

I'm really enjoying reading everyone's stories! It was such a joy to share my love of stamping with my 15 year old. (Even though the moment didn't last THAT long.) ;)
My 10 year old daughter loves to 'critique' my work. Sometimes she has great ideas. In fact, I'm teaching at CKU, and I was working on the layout and it was her suggestion to add another color to the mix (a color I would of never chosen!). I tried it, and she was right! So, now, she wants her name on the "Layout By:" section of the instructions! LOL!

That is so funny. My ten year old niece likes to stamp when she visits. She already asked if she can have my stuff when I die. Very direct and to the point. Kids are funny. I said yes of course. I am sure she will always like to stamp. Even as a teenager. She is very creative and she really acts more like my daughter than my sister's daughter. Even my sister agrees. My niece also tells me that she wants to be as creative as me some day. She is so sweet!
My oldest son did a little stamping as a teen and enjoyed it. My teenage daughter absolutely WON'T stamp with me. Lately, however, she's been getting into scrapbooking, so we can at least work together. My youngest son used to get up in my lap and wanted to stamp on the same project I was working on. I think he really just wanted to be with his mom. Now at 10, he's "too old".
My 8 year old niece likes to stamp with me when she comes to visit. So maybe she'll become my stamping buddy.
My teenager just takes credit for making cards that I actually made. Well, I suppose that's because the cards were great and he wanted to impress the girls at Valentine's day.
My almost 14 year old daughter has been stamping since she was 7 or 8 years old! She has a three drawer Iris cart of her own filled with stamps and supplies, including her own set of about 28 or so SU ink pads (the retired clam shell ones.) She will be splitting the hostess benefits with me when I host my club stamping party in June, and is very excited about it! She tells everyone that she is a much better stamper than I!

My daughter is a freshman in college (18 years old). We have started a mother/daughter group (high school friends who graduated last year) that get together to keep in touch. We are having a great time learning new techniques and sharing ideas!
