Default Paper Bag Albums (Lunch Bag Albums)

Could someone please tell me where I could find the tutorial or instructions for the paper bag albums? I can't seem to find the instructions anywhere on SCS. Thank you

Letteringmama have you gone to the gallery and then to anyhting but a card and then you scroll down and there you will find home made albums there are different examples and it really is not hard to see what they have done to put them together everyone has their own way of doing it . I have made some before and I used the brown lunch saka as well as the white and then in differet sizes mini albums and full size I used the open end for pockets to place note inside the flaps for the visual effect the it hold the book closed its all what you can imagine and create I hope it helps and you find what you are looking for . Remeber just have fun doing whatever you create.~~Bluegirl~~

When my group of stamping buddies make paperbag book we cover the entire bag with cardstock. The only place where you actually see the bag is on the spine and the inside of the pockets. It really punches it up and people are a bit surprised that it a paperbag. I love making them, its like making a bunch of card fronts and putting them all together. Also, we tend to make them based on person's interests: gardening, pets, horses, etc. Its fun to make all these different "card fronts" and everyone that has received them just loves them because they are so personalized.

Thank you Stamphappy! That helps me a lot.
Does something special happen to the bottom of the bag (the folded piece) or is that ignored and just hidden under cardstock? I probably sound confusing. I know the 'top' of the paperbag is where you can slide stuff into. I mean the 'bottom' of the paper bag that's folded when lying flat.

The cardstock will cover and hold down that part of the bag.

Thank you Cathy. I was wondering what I was supposed to do with that piece! Thought maybe there was a purpose for it.

For the top part of the bag (if you're not going to stick a note inside), you could just stick a little piece of adhesive in there to keep it closed.

I haven't made one of these but I know a lot of people have used this space as secret journaling space or a little reveal space etc. as well.

What I did when I made mine was to cut the bottom of the bag off leaving as much bag as possible. Then I opened up the folds of the bag to make the pages as large as possible. Then I ironed the bags (I used four or five). I made a cardstock "binder" for the raw edges I had cut and punched holes to tie ribbon through to keep it together. I used the open ends to put tags and other little things. I decorated each page with cardstock and stamps and embellishments and then sponged all the edges with a brown (walnut) ink to age it just a little and give it a nice border. It was really a LOT of fun to make. The one I did was for my Father a couple of years ago for Father's Day...Have fun with it!!

I just looked at the photos and wow, did I ever remember wrong. I didn't use the cardstock on his book. That was a "summer" bag book that I did that on. (It's in my gallery too). Also, I gave it to him for Christmas, not Father's Day. I was so glad I gave it to him when I did, because he passed away three months ago. He really treasured the little book. I am going to make one for my mother, hopefully for Mother's Day.

I'm sorry for your loss. Never easy. I lost my Mom a year and a half ago and I still miss her. Blessings to you.

Thank you for the link. They look awesome but unfortunately the cost is over my head right now. I'll have to play with making them on my own.

The marvelous JanTink has a great Paper bag album tutorial on her blog:
http://stampspaperscissors.typepad.c...als/index.html

She even has some scrap maps to go along with it!

Scroll down a bit and look on the left under "My Templates".

Last year I made a whole bunch of paper bag books and gave them to my friends and grandchildren to decorate however they chose. I had about 5/6 bags sewn together down the middle of the bags- just alternate the bags so that you have an open end every other bag. After sewing them together for the book- I painted each page with Lumiere and other shiny paints- different colours for each page, so that one book was in different colours of gold, while another book might be in blues and greens. The paint had a rather nice effect on the paper bags, they became supple and soft. The overall effect was very nice and everyone seemed to really like them. Some people decorated each page and inserted things in the open ends of the book.

I used Beate's tutorial and bound mine by punching holes and running ribbon through them. It finalized my "neeeeeed" for a cropodile though and I got one for Christmas. Haven't used it to do one of these again but think it would be perfect to bind them with eyelets. I think I did 3 bags for the ones I made.

Default Different Style Paper Bag Book Here

I posted a different style album here in my SCS gallery in my Stamper Dog's art gallery on his site.

I staggered the bags by 1" each & then put a spine on them. Crop-A-Diles are WONDERFUL with these!

I would've used more Blue Bayou double sided ribbon but I was running short.

Enjoy!
