I know this sounds silly, but how do you do your difficulty rating? If I even fill that in, I almost always put 1 for easy. Sometimes I will get bold and put 1.5 down ;) I guess I figure everything I do is easy compared to the fancy cards in the galleries.
What do you all do? My goal this week is to make something worth a ranking of more than 1. I just don't know what that means
I have had the same question about ratings. My sister is just starting out in stamping and I feel that if she can do something it is a 1. If she doesn't know how to do the technique I feel it is a 2. It is all so arbitrary.
I usually rate my cards a 1. If they have some cuttlebug embossing, heat embossing, diecutting, lots of gluing or something like that I give it a 2. I rarely see cards above a 2, but I tend to shy away from the difficult technique cards.
Ditto. If it takes a while to make or has a lot of steps, I usually give it a higher rating. I don't think I've rated anything higher than a two though.
I stopped putting a rating on a long time ago. But when I was actively filling in a rating, I always put down a "1", unless the card used bleach. Then that was a 5, because of the fumes.
I've wondered about the ratings too. For a beginner, an idea about time would be helpful. Some looks so awesome I immediately think I'd never tackle anything that elaborate -- even if the steps were easy.
Location: VA. But my heart is split between the U.S. and Guatemala!

I usually try to think of somebody that is just starting to stamp and base my rating on how easy or difficult it would be for them. I don't think I have ever rated one of my cards a 3 or higher.

Mine move up to 2 if there are some time-consuming steps ... or a lot of them.
However, most of my cards are 1 ... Very easy for others to duplicate. (If a group of 11yo girls can do them, they're a 1!!)
I rate things based on my own personal and very arbitrary scale. Most things get a 1 or a 2. If something took a bit longer (keeping in mind that all my cards take just about forever to make ;) ), but it wasn't especially difficult I'll usually rate it a 3. Things that are really fussy get a 4. You probably won't see a 5 in my gallery -- I don't have the patience for those projects!
