Default I just ordered an ATG gun!

I am so excited and I really hope I love it. I have never used one but have heard so many great things from all of you.
I also got the gold adhesive to go with it.
And I ordered some Kokuyo tape n' roller plus. I can't wait to try that too.

I put together my second scrapbook layout and I love the Tombow liquid glue green/white but I had it all over my fingers so I am going to try a few other options.
I hope I love the ATG at that price

*I love reading about products so thanks for all of you chiming in all the time. I is very helpful.

Well I too just ordered an ATG gun due to all the fabulous comments on SCS. It is due to arrive on Halloween. Can't wait. I am hoping it will solve all my adhesive troubles.

I got mine from FramingSupplies.com too and got it VERY quickly.... delivered by FedEx... It was wrapped in a massive amount of bubble wrap and could have bounced through my door! lol I even took a pic of the bundle!

Apparently bubble wrap is cheaper and safer packaging than using a box........

Got a great tool and a toy... bubble wrap is so much fun to pop! LOL

I hope you love it as much as I love mine! I bought a case of refills and I'm on #5 and I have done a ton of big projects. I would hate to see how much mono I would have used PLUS it wouldn't hold as well. I just don't know what I did before my atg gun for adhesive!

Another plug for the ATG! Love it and it makes life so much simpler always knowing where your tape dispenser is... that big red gun (714) is hard to lose, even under mounds of paper and scraps!

Love mine too. It holds things together so well. You won't find you layouts and cards falling apart. I always order the rolls by a case of 10 or 12 (I forget which it is). Lasts forever, gone are the days of running out of adhesive in the middle of a project. Enjoy it!

it will be your best SB purchase ever! it is a little awkward at first getting use to it. There is also a video on the .framersupplies.com website on how to load the refill too. You will be so happy. With all the $$$ you are saving, you can buy craft supplies!

I got the 714 as well. I was hoping it was the right choice since it was cheaper and I don't have a lot of extra money this month. I looked a lot of places and this was the cheapest so I was excited! yay!!! http://www.framingsupplies.com/3M/TapeDispenserGuns.htm

I love my big red tape gun. It is the best investment I've made. Everything stays stuck and the adhesive is incredibly cheap. Which is a good thing because I don't use it sparingly.

I asked at my LSS and she said she is getting refill rolls in of the gold tape. She has had so many requests for it. I am sure it will cost an arm and a leg though!

This is so great! I had never heard of the ATG gun. I know I am sick of running out of adhesive and refilling and refilling. Not to mention that they seem to change the style slightly so that I have some I can't even find refills for.
So, everyone here is in agreement that the 714 is the best?

I believe the 714 make a glue line of 1/4" and the other gun is 1/2". Something like that anyway. I just went for the cheaper one. The gal who owns our LSS has the 1/2" so I think either size will work.

For $75! A can of spray paint is only $5, and I can buy IN CANADA the 714 for $55.

I painted both of mine black and added some flashy crystal stickers. Much better than the red, and it only took a couple of hours.

Default me too

I was at the Ontario Scrapbook Expo and bought the 700 in pink...I know I could paint it myself....but sometimes instant gratification is in order.... I was surprised at how light the dispenser was...just from looking at it I thought it would be heavy. I'm still getting use to using it ...

BTW the tape sticks very well...I left some stuff in my car and it stayed stucked together...I've done this previously and the stuff came untaped........ oh I order the 714 (DH doesn't know; having it delivered to work)LOL

Default which gun to buy?

I just looked at the "find tape" website and there are several guns to choose from.
Which one is the best? the JVCC (blue) is cheaper than the 700.
what about the adapter for the 700 to use 1/4 in. adhesive? That would be good for ribbon.
Also does this adhesive hold well on 3D boxes that tend to fall apart easy?

Thanks for any replys

Can anyone sell me on these? It is just a tape holder right? Trying to justify the high cost...

I asked lots of people lots of questions before I bought mine. And, at the Expo I was able to test it out. The company at the Expo http://albumsandanswers.com also sells mini albums and they use the ATG gun for them. They are bulky and they still hold together nicely. I felt that the strength of the tape would allow me to use it as my only adhesive. I currently use sticky tape, double-sided tape and mono. I dont like buying several packages and then storing them so I dont run out. The ATG holds 36 yards, the tape is strong and the gun is easy to use. It's pricey, yes. But, I felt it was worth it. I thought about it all day at the Expo before I returned to the booth to make my purchase. I bought the pink but they sell them in hot pink, green apple and grape too. Plus, the owners are nice people. I like supporting small businesses run by nice people.

I haven't used the adapter for the 700 but, I've read that it does not work well.

The ATG is worth every penny. The tape refills are really cheap, and big. It also sticks REALLY well. I had put a mat down, decided I didn't like it there about 20 min later and it would NOT budge without ripping the paper.

Don't do the blue one! Mine broke. I have the 700 and love it with the 1/2" refills. The 714 is made for the 1/4" refills. You will really love it! I have used mine now for about 6 years (the 700) and I will never go back to regular "scrapbooking" adhesives. I am going to get me a 714 and have both sizes of refills going! it is well worth the initial investment because of the savings in refills. They are 36 YARDS long!! as opposed to the 28-40 FEET of refills like tombo.

This information came at a great time. I ran out of tape for the dispenser I normally use and the store was out of refills. I got another type to use in the meantime, and I HATE it. The dispenser has a really hard, sharp edge that will crease your paper, so it has to be held at exactly the right angle, and even then, the darn thing skips.
Anyway, it seemed like a good time for a change, so I ordered the 714 model and got the gold adhesive too.
Thanks to everyone for all the helpful tips. It's more helpful than I can express.
I'm looking forward to getting a new toy! Yay!

me too! I just ordered the 714 and 5 rolls of the gold tape.

we all want gold right? Or was that a waste of money?

Anyhow I hope I like it.

I had been buying miracle tape from www.stampo.com which is a great product too. It's 36 yards for about $6 and you don't need a fancy gun for it, it's got white paper and you tear it off or use this cheap little tearing thing they have. But I use an embarrising amount of adhesive so I needed something even cheaper. Also I was tired of white thingies.

and also I like to have the coolest tools.

I am seriously looking into buying one, but I have a few questions. I like the red 714 gun. Does it come with refills or do I order those seperatly? Do I also need to buy the adapter thingy for this one? What is the gold tape? TIA
