Please can you tell me about this product- I have seen a few cards that have used the colluzle, is it a complete cutting system with blades and mats or is it shapes.
I think it fits the bill for what I want, but I live in the UK and haven't seen any anywhere, so would have to order on line from the USA.
It is a template that works with a swivel blade and a mat underneath to cut the paper into shapes. Each shape has a different template (i.e. one for ovals, one for circles, one for hearts, etc. The templates are clear with grooves for the blade to go into. Hope this helps a little bit.
The templates are reasonably priced and nested meaning you get multiple sizes in one template. Right now, Michaels in US has many on clearance as they are not selling them anymore.
Personally, I can NOT live without it. I use it very very often- easy for matting, cutting shapes, and great for those of us that are ruler challenged.

I'm with ScrappinforNate........I love it. When I use my scallop punches & want a plain circle to go outside or inside of it I use my coluzzle. Their alphas take awhile to do because you have to clip the little parts but if you are on a budget it works great. I have about 3 of those, the heart, waterdrop, circle, 2 sizes of ovals, etc. I like it because the pieces are cheaper, too.
I love it. Especially the purse one! You can make really cute purse cards from tag to regular size. There are also envelope and card templates that are fun.
I don't have any of the alphas or things I can die cut easier...
I continue to have trouble with it... still cutting into the template... is there a video tutorial somewhere that can show me what I'm doing wrong? or is there a simple explanation why I'm having so much trouble with mine?
I also have several and love them. They are made by provo craft and are available online from many places. You have to make sure you hold the knife straight up perpendicular to the templete. Also make sure you have peeled the protective plastic layer off both sides of the templete before using.
There is a video of how to use it at the provo craft web site.
Edith, are you using the swivel blade made just for the coluzzle? If not, you will cut your template. It has a collar to keep the blade from cutting the template and you must hold the knife straight up and down not at a slant like a pencil. I have several templates and companions especially for the oval and circle so I can get an 8th inch mat, just love them!!
Thanks everyone- you have answered all the queries running around my head-do I need a special cutting tool, is it easy to use, is it good value and is it very diverse.
I will try and purchase one now.
Thanks for the help... I did go to Provocraft to watch the video.... and then tried it again. I think with a little more practice I'll get this figured out! Thanks again!!
I am a Coluzzle lover! I use it all the time. There is a bit of a learning curve with it though.
I did go to the Provocraft site and watch the video too. It does help also to keep your wrist straight, and not try to follow the track, just let the blade do the work.
I use mine the most for matting photos and making photo frames for scrapbooking. I love the circle nested template too!
Hi Sam, I love my Coluzzle system. I wasn't sure if it would be easy to use or not and I was very lucky to be able to try it out at my LSS. I also checked out the ProvoCraft website as they have great tips and a video to watch.
I too am in the UK and not only is it hard to find the stuff - it's pricey too. I have PM'd you with details of a US eBayer that I have happily bought Coluzzle supplies from.
I am a new Coluzzle owner and I had no problems at all using it.
From all I read and learned here from Coluzzle owners...
I keep the knife perpendicular, lead with my elbow and the cuts turn out great!
I marked the channels with different color sharpies.
I removed both plastic cover sheets.
and
I use a sanding block to make the web cuts smooth.
I use mine the most lately making windows in Altered books - perfect circles, ovals, hexagons.
I have the card templates, tags and book labels and a bunch of layering shapes. FUN!
They even have the carry all for $15 - 1/2 the price of anywhere else!

I bought some templates on sale at Michaels, at first I hated them! They seemed to take forever to cut, and I was forever cutting the template. Then my LSS told me about the cutting mat. I thought, wht's the difference?
Boy what a difference!! Make absolutely sure that you get the mat!! Now I love my Coluzzle!

When you're first learning how to use it, it's actually easier to grip the pencil in your fist like a child first learning how to write - somehow that makes it easier to get the feel of letting the knife follow the track and not trying to guide it too much.
Also, when I get a new template, I run the knife thru it backwards without cutting anything - just hold the template up in the air and run the knife thru blunt side first. You'd be amazed at how much residue comes up out of the cutting tracks, and it makes them a lot easier to work with.
It sure does pay to get the weekly inkling. I really like my coluzzle shapes - but I still have a problem with cutting the pieces that stay together without either cutting too deep or not deep enough. Any suggestions? I like the idea from Ireland to use a sanding block, but that wouldn't work when I get hungry and cut too much off. OY. Thanks for the help. Oh, and the website is back up and you are right - great prices on the templates. Thanks for the heads up.

I too have a coluzzle! I purchased my original oval and circle templates from Stampin Up! What a great investment. Someone mentioned about a budget and I actually use it for matting different items but cut out the middle and use that portion for another project! Two projects out of one piece! My 8 year old neice loves using it for school projects!
I think it is wonderful! I have almost all the templates. For the price, (inexpensive) you can't beat it. I used to buy tons of punches - this system has almost eliminated the need, at least for nesting squares, rectangles, ovals, circles, etc. I now get to use my punch money on corners and borders! Love it!

I live in the UK and I know that there are lots of craft shope that sell the different shapes coluzzel's Phone around befoe you start paying expensive postal rates.
I just got my first set of nested templates two weeks ago, for the most part I love it, but I have not figured out how to cut the last two bits of paper where the templates don't let you cut. What do all of you use, a craft knife or scissors? I am also having a little difficulty with the 90 degree square getting all of the corners cut. I take the blade out and run each side individually, but then the corners do not always meet! Help!!!
Other than these problems I love it!
I just use a small scissors to snip the part that doesn't get cut by the blade - small price to pay in my book. Of course, it doesn't get totally PERFECT....hold the blade UP - keep the barrel straight up in the air - and the blade just follows the corners, easily. Keep the tool UP while using the cutting blade. Hope that helps!
I got mine a few months ago and I love it! I have the SU kit and an extra of each the oval and circle so I can get lots of sizes! I plan on getting more templates soon.
Just used it today to make the Suspension card from Weekly Inkling's tutorial yesterday.
WOW!!! Just checked the site and I had NO idea that there were so many different coluzzle templates out there. Will definately be adding to my collection. Thanks!
Thanks for the idea Ireland! I am off to mark my Coluzzles with the different color Sharpies.
