A woman I'd met through eBay has just told me about this site. It's wonderful!
I'm not new to boards like this, but am fairly new to stamping (about two months or so now). I have scrap-booked for years, but never had the courage to try this and now I'm becoming addicted.
The cards in the gallery are so inspirational and will surely help me along the way to creating some of my own memorable cards.
I'm sure I'll have lots of questions as I go along, but I can't wait to get started and join in the fun.
Okay. I did a message elsewhere and when it was posted, saw my profile had an avatar of "Cardstock Collector." How the heck did that get on there? I want to edit my profile and let people know where I'm at. How do you do that? As you can see, I'm another newbie! Thanks, Kathy in Ocala, FL
Kathy, thanks for asking. I'd wondered the same thing.
Thank you everyone for the warm welcome. I'm having a ball here and can't wait to get to know you all better and learn all about stamping from such knowledgeable people. I joined some swaps today and even started making the card fronts for one...I'm sooooo excited, haha.
Hi, TamIam. It shows you're in the Show Me State, but your SCS name is kind of like an old highway in Florida, the Tamiami Trail. It used to be the main drag between Tampa and Miami over Alligator Alley, I think. Don't quote me on it. I haven't been in Florida but a year. Isn't this site great. I love the tutorials and Beate, sounds like Miata. Have a good weekend and happy stamping! Kathy B
Welcome!! One piece of advice from a seasoned newbie--buy a really comfy chair because you will be spending hours and hours glued to the computer looking at everyone's fabulous work!! Have fun!
I speak the truth not so much as I would, but as much as I dare, .......and I dare a little more as I grow older. -Michel de Montaigne, essayist (1533-1592)
Welcome! Hope you enjoy your new "home". It is so addicting, everytime I go to the internet, I go to SCS & now where else. Don't think I could ever leave!!!
Ah! I finally figured out how to find all my posted threads and can catch up! I wasn't ignoring you, I was lost, lol.
Someone said to buy a comfy chair...LOL. I need another addiction like I need a hole in the head, but hey, more room for the creative ideas to flow in the old noggin' right? ggg. Seriously, one is on the way (planned it for other reasons before I'd even joined) so now I have no reason not to check in and check often!
Someone else (I'm so sorry I didn't keep track of everyone's names, thanks for your patience), anyway someone mentioned TamIAm is like a highway in Florida. I've heard of that one!! But this is a knock-off of Dr. Seuss. (No, I do not like green eggs and ham. I do not like them Sam I am). When I bought my first car I wanted those vanity plates, but they were taken. I see them from time to time, so it's funny she lives around me. Small world, eh?
To everyone else, thanks again for the welcome and suggestions. Also, it's so good to see so many other newbies here with me. As for the "Glitter Queen" avatar, I see that you made it too!
 eventually i wil get the hang of this. my upline referred me to this site, and i had been lurking in the background for quite a while. i am new to su and this site, so here goes with the plunge into something new. danni
Hi,
When I first got invited to a stamp party I told my friend "what do I want to do that for, stamping is a kids thing". Well 1yr later I have 150 stamp sets and love this site to death. So addicted you maybe but alone you are not.
welcome aboard!!!
I've had a friend in MI who has been doing this for a while now and I kept every card she made me, but never thought about doing it for one reason or another. Well in late November I went to my first SU party thinking "I'll make a card, buy a set of stamps for the kids and that's it." While there the hostess' mom and aunt were even marveling over how a group of grown women were having a ball coloring, stamping, cutting and pasting, lol.
I was immediately hooked.
I found a lot of retired sets and have been steadily building the currents I want. It's amazing how quickly you can acquire the sets and not realize it until you sit down to figure out what you have. A woman in my Midwest group has a stamp that I want--
"Rubber Stamping. Once a hobby, now an expensive addiction."

Welcome! I lurked around for about 6 months before I started posting anything to the gallery or message boards. Now I'm addicted. I'm currently on a quest. See, I don't like the title matboard maniac and so I'm really trying to get past the 350 mark.
Have fun, and really, you'll want a comfy chair.
Jenny
Tina, right up to the left of the post reply button there is a new topic button. That should allow you to start a new topic thread AND introduce yourself. We'd love to hear about you ....
