I was wondering what everyone does when they are on a roll of stampin.
Do you make card fronts to attach to a card at a later time or do you go ahead and make the card in completion? When I'm in the stampin mode I can get a few done a day, but was wondering if I should make the card itself or just the front.
Any imput would greatly be appreciated.
It's probably stupid, but if I make a card I like, I usually make 10. That way, if it's someone's birthday, I already have a card ready and if I need a gift, I put a few in a cello bag.
I usually make the completed card. I'll do the assembly line process, start going, get as far as time allows. Then next stamping session complete the card. I haven't had time to just play and see what happens, that will happen when DS is done with basketball season and I'm not spending so much time in a gym, LOL!!!
I always make full cards. And, I'll usually make a few of the same design to have on hand (like Rhodiangirl - it's not stupid, it's sensible). You have the stuff out for that card design so you might as well.
I used to only make fronts, but found that I never mounted them. I have now started making real cards and then I can use them later. I tend to only make one, but if I think of it, I will make a few to use in the near future. I always tend to wish I had made a few extras!
I love doing the card fronts. I wish I could change my method of operation but I like the designing and can spend hours "futzin" (not a word). Hence, I rarely make 2 of the same and then have trouble parting with some. :? I went to a stamp camp yesterday where the demo had us make 2 of each card: 1 to keep, 1 to give away. Good idea!
Depends what kind of mood I'm in. Sometimes I "create" (or CASE from this site!), but I USUALLY make the complete card and put it in a clear envelope for protection. Sometimes I'm in the mood to cut out (this can be relaxing) objects, like from SKETCH AN EVENT, so I'm ready to use my cutouts when I "create." I try to take one day a month and then copy my creations. My favorites will get 5-6 copies, and if I just need a certain saying (ie. THANK YOU, etc), I'll try to make 2-3 copies of several kind, but they'll all have the certain word on it. I keep my finished "stash" in a Spring Basket from Longaberger and it sits on my stairway (makes a pretty decoration). I made dividers so I can quickly reach for a card to write or grab several to put in a cello bag for a quick gift.

I make the whole card, not just a front, because sure enough, when the time comes for the whole card, I won't have the right color cardstock to attach it to otherwise! The only thing is that on some cards, I leave the inside blank, that way I can stamp the sentiment to fit the situation I am sending it for. I do like to have 3 or 4 of the same card on hand, though I will sometimes alter the colors a bit so they are not all the 'same'. HTH!

Not stupid at all. In fact, it is a very SMART idea. I try to do this, but it rarely happens.
I make them on an as needed basis. That way, I get a reason to stamp!
But I always take a photo so I can remember what it looked like if I had a great idea.

It depends on the card. Usually I make a bunch of cardfronts for less popular occasions, but on Birthday cards, I usually make a full card on those because I send out lots of 'em and I like having them done.
Once I design/create the first card I precut all the "ingredients" for doing more cards. I'll cut the paper and set aside the stamps and any ribbon, wire, etc. Then the next time I don't have the energy to design, but want to stamp I'll have everything I need to crank out a bunch of cards! I get to feel productive but don't have to put so much time and energy into it!
I always design just one first, but if it's quick and cute, I then make 5-10 while I have my stuff out. But sometimes my prototypes are too complex and I just make one more for the recipient and keep the original for my samples.

When I'm in "play" mode I'll make up a sample I like and then bust out a bunch of them (10 maybe) so they're on hand. I don't mind giving the same "looking" card to several people if it's a thinking of you or something... it's what I write on the inside that has to be different.

I usually make 4 of the same design, full cards. Then I have a few to put in my files for future occasions (I put a sticky note w/name of person I want to give it to) and others in my box to give as Christmas or birthday gifts.

When I have a good idea with a certain set and have extra time to play, I like to try and make at least a couple of cards at one sitting and set them aside. When I have a nice block of free time then I will go into what I call a "Mass Production Mode" and create a bunch of cards at one time, mostly for major events such as Holidays, Birthdays, and Babies.
