Default paper mache' letters

Have you seen these paper mache' letters at Joann's? Very cute. I wanted to make one for my dd (17 years old tomorrow!).... I covered it with paper and then for lack of any other ideas... I smothered it in ribbon. If you have a second or two. Please look at it and offer some suggestions. I apologize for the link to my blog but I'm at work and cannot reduce the pic enough for this site.

thanks!

Stef's paper mache letter

I actually bought one also, I was going to decorate them and put them on the wall in my craft room (create), but I ended up going with the wood ones from Michaels.

I love that paper you used, very nice.

I LOVE it and I want some! How big are they? I might try putting a couple of pieces of ribbon in one place, I read in a decorating magazine that you should give the eye someplace to rest, maybe on that first bend, before the S starts to slant down to the right?

What kind of paper is that, it looks yummy and I think I *need* some of that too. It's beautiful and I just did some Making Memories letters but they are 8 inches and yours looks much bigger:mrgreen:

Very cute...I left you a message...but for anyone interested in decorating altered "stuff" run over to Craft Critique...we just did a whole week or two on altered items...I did one on altered letters and give some other tips on how to decorate them too...

(the link is in my siggy)

thank you for the suggestions and the CRAFT CRITIQUE was exactly what I needed before I started the project.

I ended up leaving the ribbons and tucking her cheerleading pictures in some of them. She loved it so that makes me very happy!

I think I would like to try my hand at some more letters after reading the craft critique - I love the HO HO idea (so ya know I'm going to do that one!)

I'm at work now but when I get home I will see what size the letter is - it is very large... and the paper came from my stash but I think it was one of those stacks (I have it at home and will get you the info asap!)
