You have to black out the oval tag from TTBM and use the scallop oval from Alphalicious. It looks okay. I just messed around so it's not in a card form or anything.

Yes Kathy, my card turned out beautiful! It's on my blog!!
Thanks for doing that Robyn I do have TBBM So I might have to go get Alpha licious. Can you post a thumbnail of it?

Man! More work. Just kidding!! I did everything on white so I will have to do the scallop on colored CS. I'll try to get it done tomorrow and put it in the sticky. It doesn't look as great as the punch but it could work for something.

I am sure if you use the ovals in George, you can just use a small corner rounder for a faux scallop look. One of the cards I posted here with the Bella looking image is cut from an oval coluzzle template (the 4th biggest oval) and I used my round corner punch and worked like a charm. But I still do want to get Alphalicious since I really love the fonts in it.

Looks like when SCS was down, it took my thumbnails with it...here is a pic of the faux scalloped oval and also the circle scallop that I used my corner rounder on:

How did you make sure the corner rounder with a half a punch?

It sure looks nice I might have to try that with a corner rounder and a george oval and shadow. You removed the guard, right?

I think because it is a tag. I still think you can invert it and still use it. so one hole is on top one on the bottom, a rhine stone bow or something will cover it. I love the font and I am sure the ovals will still work great. You can use two circles from Mini Monograms together and cover it with ribbon like they do when they use the square punch to make a rectangle. There are still somany options. It is such an amazing machine. My LSS just sent an add for the expression 350.00, such agony. I can not spend that much in a year for craft tools, I've spent, have to wait until after my B-Day or Christmas, I believe after Jan is when they will start having it on sale anyway.

HUm robyn is it that unimpressive, do your part to help sell the carts, I'ld appreciate it. Especially because I dont have a cozzule(sp?), I know I have CM's template but please its still another thing to get out and use, and my cricut is already out, and he enjoys when I use him.

Since I am fairly new at this, I might pop in once in a while to say "Hi" and most of all, how to fully use these carts to its potential. I've been using the George font alot and recently used it to make a recipe book and paint can for a hostess swap - actually my own hostess swap. I will post pics when the kids take a nap later.

I have posted on here a couple of times about the sale at CreativeXpress.com. I hope you all don't mind and would love to share some inspiration once I learn to use all of the special features on the carts.

Happy Friday!
Welcome, Alma! Great to have someone new!

Kathy: Yes, you take the guard off...you punch all the way through the paper - you will get a smiley face looking shape. As you are punching the next scallop, make sure to line the corner round with the edge of the first punch and so on...does that make any sense??? I had to experiment with different kinds of sizes for ovals and circles. If you cut a circle at (I think) 3.5 and 4.5 inches using George, the scallop edges come out perfectly. I have not tried the oval shapes yet on George. I used an oval coluzzle template to create the scalloped edges (Used the 4th biggest oval on the template).

You can do the same with a slit punch (SU brand) but you would have to cut a circle or oval on the inside and slide the punch from the inside circle to make the scalloped edges rather than the outside.

Here is a link to the tutorial using a corner rounder punch: http://paperpleasing.typepad.com/my_...r_oh_my_g.html. Although she uses a circle coluzzle template for her circles.

I guess like Robyn mentioned earlier, we can just use George for the ovals and use a corner rounder punch to create the scalloped edges. I bought mine from Wal-mart for a good price and works well. We can rely on MM for the scalloped circles and squares.

BUT, I still want to get Alphalicious for the fonts. Tee Hee

Hey everyone I dont expect to get to use my cricut until late tonight.
I hope Robyn is having fun with her Visitors.
It is a beautiful day here. I have been sewing, mostly altering, hemming and mending today. I havent taken the machines out for quite a while and when I did everyone brought their, holey jeans to be made into shorts for the summer. All I was going to do was alter a jean skirt for my DD#4 and fix a sheet that got tore. I feel like I am getting something productive done. While I wait for the Mailman, and DD#6 Ortho Appt, then I hope to play after I get back home.
Ihope everyone else has a nice day.

Kathy,
why on earth are you still asking about those scallops?? Don't you have that mini monograms? Robyn has told you a million times that it does the scallop circle and squares. ;) Just kidding, don't get mad.

BTW, did you all know that the accent essentials cart does that scallop border with or without holes. I love it!!

I also just recently found out by a very reliable source that cricut will soon be disconntinuing TTBM, Animal kingdom, and christmas cheer. So for those of you that don't have these, GET THEM!!!

OKay that's all!!

I think MM also, I think all five of the ones that everyone was selling so cheap are beind discontinued.

And I have only been discussing scalloped ovals with out holes, and if I was to get MAD (j/k) it would be because you are flaunting "Accents" in my face which unlike you ( because its only available with the "EBUG" I am not fortunate enough to have......YET!!!!

I haven't had much time to do much with my bug. But I did cut out a gift bag using TTBM, but the largest it would let me do it was at 5 3/4" I don't remember what the biggest size we could do them with our regular cricut, anyone? I wonder if I can do HUGE MAMA scallops?? I think so!!! Any takers? hahahahha!! You can do a 12x12 LO using a huge scallop. I'm just saying!!!

I like EBug ... I have to go back and recheck spelling of expressions everytime I type it.

I can say that it cuts really fast, it seems quieter, and smoother. The mat is huge, but so is the machine. What else do you want to know? OH yes it cuts chipboard, but you have to use the multifunction, and you need to cut it like three times. I've noticed that it can also cut really small letters without messing them up. My reg. cricut always messed up my 1" letters, NOPE that the EBUG. Okay what else do you want to know?
