I had to just laugh at the title of this thread! Seems like many of us thought this in the beginning. Read the blog entry on this topic here under the last stamp room picture: http://blog.360.yahoo.com/rubyslippers74
Huh? The part about the cutting station? What about it?
Boy where do journalist get their information from these days?
I am a newbie, I bought my first stampin stuff about 2 years ago but couldn't get that much so didn't do it that much and now that I took over a corner of my basement to use as my 'mothership' I desided to find a new demostrator and buy some more stuff. $200 later and many a couple trips to Micaels & JoAnn's just within the past MONTH I am ready to go....Or so I think.:p
Perhaps if you look at my bank card expenditures between 2 am and 5 am you might think it's a cheap hobby - but if you want the truth check out the other 21 hours of the day!
Oh, this thread is toooo funny. And I just spent another wad at Starlit Studios 2 minutes ago. I won't have a retirement fund. I'll be living in a giant card house I've made with all my paper. The homeless stamper. I'll be happy, stamping, but COLD!! Would a heater burn my giant card house down??
Who in the world did they poll? LOL That is VERY funny!
I didn't read the article, but maybe I should find it and have my hubby read it. LOL
ROFLMBO! Hahaha!!! I didn't read it either, but from what's been said in this thread, Red Book obviously didn't ask any SCS'ers. *snicker* For that matter, I doubt any real life stampers were consulted for the article. LOL!!!
Another validation that journalism is seldom to be trusted. It's easy to set up a poll and determine what you what the outcome to be. Too bad the author didn't bother to sign in on SCS and conduct a poll in the forum - definitely could have received more factual information.

Hmmm....seeing as stamping keeps me sane, I guess it could be a "cheap" hobby. One hour with a therapist several times a week = a whole lot more moola than I spent on my stamping goodies! But truly cheap? Dream on!
Please, they couldn't even get basic info about inks right:
"Look for stamp pads with pigment ink; it has richer color and dries faster than dye-based ink (so it smudges less)." Exactly how much research did they do for this article?

I had to stop in and check out the article at the grocery store today. When I read this I kind of went 'WHAT' out loud, then had to do the quick look around to see if anyone noticed.
Oh my....and I'm going to be nice and not say anything about the samples. (biting my tongue, biting my tongue)
