Challenge Title: Kids Challenge- Heart Shaped Mice
FEB07VSNG: 1:00 p.m. EST- Kids Challenge- Heart Shaped Mice
Challenge Description:
Who doesnt include their pets among their favorite things? And what kid doesnt ask for a rodent at some point in their childhood? And what parent doesnt appreciate a mousemade out of paper that is. My challenge is to make yourself a mouse, made out of paper hearts.
1. Fold an 8-1/2" x 11" (or smaller) piece of cardstock in half.
2. Fold a 4 x 5 (or smaller) piece of cardstock in half.
3. Draw and cut two hearts from the sheets of paper (one will be smaller than the other).
4. Keeping the hearts folded, glue them together so that the large heart becomes the body and the smaller heart becomes the head.
5. Lay yarn (or any other fibers) down the fold and glue down, leaving the yarn hanging out at the end of the body. This yarn becomes the tail. If you do not have yarn or fibers, cut a very thin strip of paper, this will do the trick.
6. Draw eyes and whiskers on the smaller heart/head of the mouse. You can decorate your mouse with stamps and/or markers. Add glitter or any other embellishments to help decorate your mouse.
7. All done. Have fun playing with your new mouse. You can even write a message on the inside and share your pet with someone you love. Uploading Instructions: You have 45 minutes to complete this challenge.
Be sure to upload to the Kids Gallery ( not the regular SCS Gallery ) so well be able to locate the cards for judging. Upload to : Gallery/Special Collections/Id Like to Thank the Little People
When uploading, be sure to use the appropriate challenge keyword for age group:
* Ages 0-4 FEB07VSNG04
* Ages 5-8 FEB07VSNG08
* Ages 9-12 FEB07VSNG12
* Ages 13-17 FEB07VSNG17
If you are using additional keywords, you must separate them with a comma.
Copying and pasting the keyword is recommended to avoid typos
It is recommended that you post a link to your creation in the chat thread just in case the gallery is being testy. If you have any questions, Ill be available in the chat thread. Happy Stamping !

Oh these are so cute Vicki! My DD was saying she has a headache and , low and behold she has a fever of 102...:( She loved the mice but wants to rest first...we'll try again later. Great challenge though!
She did!!! She is working on a Thank you card for you. She was SO excited, and she loves it so much. She can't wait to put the frame on her dresser she said... and she is eating all the candy already. I let her bring her friend Ashley for the weekend too, so they are both full of candy and hyper now. Hehe.

When I was having the younger kids make the samples, I did not even ask the older girls to play... but they came out and watched and all of a sudden they were running back for paper of their own. I liked this challenge because it was good for all ages.

It's perfect with Valentines Day right around the corner

I can't wait to see what mouse Erica makes!! Julia can make one too if she wants... the older kids loved playing here too.
Safety scissors and folded cardstock don't mix well, but he got to do it all by himself! I do ink his stamps and he didn't have enough strength to punch out the whisker holes.
Vicki, this was a GREAT challenge! Thanks! I really loved making this fun little mousie. I wish it wasn't so early in the day or I'd invite the kids down to play. If I let them here now they will want to stamp all day with me and then I won't get any other challenges done!
