A friend asked me to make a wedding anniversary card for her husband. His favorite color is black. I have no idea what to make for him. Any suggestions?
I made an anniversary card for my DH using black, burgundy and white. I used By Definition for the background. I don't have a picture of it handy that I could upload, but hopefully that helps at least a little.
Whew! I don't think of black as a color, but then..... I'm not him. I do like the idea of adding burgundy.
Do you know if he has any favorite "things?" Motorcycles? Lions? Cowboy stuff? Antique cars? Roses? Any idea she could provide would give you a head start on a card.
(I can't quite imagine an anniversary card with a black heart)
You could dry emboss on black 4 x 5.25 with shapes and mount to a colored card. Then make a tag in the same color with a happy anniversary stamp and adhere it to the card. Black is tough.

Hi...I have been working on ideas for Male Cards lately too. Check out "Male SU Card Whimsical Alpha" in my gallery (click link below) to see one I just uploaded. It's not in black, but you might like the idea. HTH! :-) LM
My mom made an anniversary card for my stepdad using black & white. She stamped the Stipple Rose in black onto white cs, then layered that onto black cs. She stamped it a second time & cut out only the rosebud, then colored the bud red. She layered that with black & mounted it over the uncolored bud. It's the "Spotlight" technique. It was really elegant, but not feminine even though it was a flower.

Here is the one I made for DH for our 4th anni. It is pretty Victorian, but I think in black and white would be quite masculine. The centre rectangle on the front opens up to reveal some sentiments.
