Default What do you do with...

the cards you make at the SCS gatherings?

I had the wonderful opportunity to attend the Austin Gathering back in April. There were some absolutely beautiful cards that we were able to make.

I was wondering, can I send out these cards? Since they aren't totally just my creations, I didn't know if that meant I couldn't send them out.

If I send them out as a RAK and then the receiver wants to post it, I don't want to offend the inspirer, however I don't know by whom some of these cards were inspired.

Any advice or suggestions is welcomed! TIA

I do use them to send to people other than my stamping buddies who are usually at the same workshop... But I always scan them first and save them in a file so I don't forget any designs. Even though the card may not be your own personal sketch or idea, I don't think it's any different than casing someone elses card, making it and sending it out. You personally assembled and stamped the card, so it really is yours!

Rebecca,

I had the pleasure of attending the Austin Gathering as well. If I remember correctly, you had the adorable fish card! (I tried to write the name of the creator on the back of each card, so I hope I'm right!) That card was so cute! I don't own that set but when my great nephew's 6th birthday rolled around, I sent the card to him because I knew it was something he would love! I have sent out several of the other cards I made that day as well.

So yes, I do feel it is O.K. to send them out. Afterall, you did do the work and create the card. As blizlady said, it is just a cased card.

Wish you weren't on the other side of the world and could attend the gathering in Houston next month! I loved making your cute card.

I went to the GA gathering a few weeks ago and we made some awesome cards! I put them in my "box" of cards. I use them for inspiration. There were so many different ideas used that when I'm feeling stuck, I look through my box and it inspires me. At some point, I suppose I'll have to let a few go if my collection gets to big. I think its fine to send out those cards. Its a complement to the "card creator" that you want to share them with your friends/family. I just can't let go yet...LOL

I would use them to send out, too.

If you're not sure who to give credit to, don't send it as a RAK. If you know who designed it and want to use if for RAK, you can give credit when you send the RAK so if it gets posted, that info can be included.

I totally use the cards I make at gatherings, some that don't get used I donate to people who send cards to soldiers and such. I wouldn't send them to anyone as an RAK, just in case they post it here and the credit gets messed up, but fine for friends at work or church or relatives!
