reflection stamping

just wondering where to look up the "how to" for reflections like the images on the summer by the sea set. thanks

I know what you are looking for but off hand all I can say is go to the techniques section of this site and look through them. There is a solid rubber stamp that you stamp on your preinked stamp onto then you stamp the solid rubber one on your paper. Hope this helps some.

In a class I attended we did a reflection card by stamping the image once on our paper. We then inked the stamp again and carefully ran a brayer over the stamp to transfer the image onto the brayer. Then we turned the paper over going the other direction and carefully lined up the brayer and rolled the reflected image on the paper. We used the line of trees from "Lovely as a Tree". It turned out very nice. I don't know if it would work for all stamps due to the limited size you can roll on the brayer but for that particular stamp it worked very well. After we had the original stamp and the reflection on the card, we then used the SU chalks to "color" our water, sky, etc. It was a great card. We just mounted it on a complimenatry color, added a couple of matching eyelets and voila, it was done. Hope this helps you or gives you another idea.

I've done the reflection by stamping on a piece of waxed paper, then turn that over and press onto your CS. This is not as dark as your original, but neither is a reflection. You then stamp on your card stock in the normal way. I also did this with Lovely as a Tree and it worked out fine. I also did it with the lady looking over the boat in Summer by the Sea. Try it, it really does work. Have fun.

I think I read a post recently about stamping on acetate also.
