I use my craft ink on vellum and it works beautifully.....you do have to give it a good amount of time to dry well. I usually let mine sit overnight. HTH!
I make sure that I get vellum that is meant to have ink on it, I don't think all vellum is. I bought a pack at Micheals that was for Ink Jet Printers, that one works well. I don't find that the drying time if much at all, I just leave it alone for 5 or 10 minutes, sometimes if I am in a hurry I give it a little heat, but keep the gun at a distance. I would suppose the vellum sold by stamping up will take ink too, I plan on ordering some of that next time.
another tip:
When you heat emboss on vellum, watch how close your cardstock is to the heat tool. If it is too close, it will buckle and curl and even bubble. So, pull it back a bit, and keep moving that heat tool around! It may still buckle and curl a bit, but just set that piece aside, and it will settle. If you're in a hurry, put it under a heavy book for a bit, and it'll be ready to go!
Another tip -- vellum has a smooth side and a rough side. It's a subtle difference, but it's there. Make sure you stamp on the rough side; it makes it much better.
