I just saw on ebay some new hostess sets. Is it legal to sale these before the new catty comes out? Just a concerned customer.

No, this is not okay. The only people who should have the 2006-07 hostess sets right now are demonstrators who preordered from the preview list, and we are expressly forbidden per the agreement we signed to sell current merchandise on eBay. It's grounds for losing your demonstratorship.

I did not think this was right. I don't want to be the one to turn in this person, but I think something should be done.

I just wrote to the person to tell her she is not allowed to sell this on e-bay. She says in her ad that her friend is a demo and gave her the set. It sounds like a demo wants to sell it, but is having a friend do it for her!
But if someone won the set in a raffle- or was just given it by her demo... and then decided they didn't want to keep it- what is preventing them from selling it?
Or are demos forbidden to give away preview sets (not sell) before the catalog date? (Now I don't know why they would- but if they did...)

I'd sell it on ebay, too...
A demo probably gave it to someone or they are selling it for a demo like someone else mentioned. My demo gave away this set and another one, too, for door prizes last month since she (nor I, since she would normally give me 1st choice of all her leftovers! doesnt like any of the Level II or III hostess sets. But those Level I sets are really cute!! Don't know what happened to the level II's and III's...
Demonstrators had to pay for this set...it was not free. It seems a pretty expensive give away to me. Bottom line is demonstrators signed a contract with SU not to do this and it seems pretty obvious that this is likely someone selling for a demonstrator, not just some innocent person who managed to get this in a give away. It is shame that there is no integrity left these days in so many people.
I saw this set on Ebay about 2 weeks ago and it was a "Buy It Now" deal and they wanted $65.00!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I want this set really bad, but there's no way I would spend that kind of money. I'm having a workshop the end of this month for a friend who just became a demo so I'm hoping to get enough orders so that I can earn it.
Demos cannot sell ANY currently available set on EBay and that includes hostess sets. We can sell a hostess appreciation set from the mini catalogs once the catalog is no longer available. (Example...we can sell Cute Converse from the Spring mini) and we can sell stamps sets from minis after they are no longer available.
Fortunately, SU is going after these sellers on EBay and terminating demonstratorships for those found selling or supplying E-Bay.
I think it isn't allowed but it unfortunately would be hard to prove --
Who is to say the person didn't go to a fair or event and win a raffle of this stamp set and it is something they don't care for? I can't tell you how many times I have either given something away to someone and had them tell me later it was nice but hadn't had a chance to use it (case in point my sister with all her CM and SU stuff still in shrink wrap for heaven's sake) - or that raffle prize they won that really wasn't their style -?
Hard to prove but stinks that there are those out there that do stuff like that. Karma will get them, LOL -
From what I understand ... since we have the new catalog all others except for those in the summer mini "are retired" ... but once the summer mini goes off ... it is not "retired" until the new catalog comes out ... regardless of the retiring ... if it is a current set it shouldn't be sold and the only thing you can do is send the link to [email protected] ... and let them deal with it ... there has been a lot of talk about how SU is "beefing up" its staff to stop this type of stuff to protect our interests and theirs as demos and home based sales ... we can complain all day but until everyone starts sending every one you see selling on ebay that is questionable to DS that is where action happens ... and sending individual emails to ebay sellers can put you (if you are a buyer or seller) at a chance of violating ebay contact rules also ...
