On page 218 of the current catalog, The card with the metal tag, how is that image done on the tag? I have a customer that wants to know how to do that and we can't figure out by looking at it if it is embossed or something else.
I know all you talented ladies know exactly how to do it.
Based on the "ingredients" listed in back, I think they stamped it in Versamark on the tag and then embossed it with copper embossing powder. Added copper brads.
That copper powder is good stuff - it looks striking on a card.
It's one of the copper metal tags and copper embossing powder. First, press your stamp into your VersaMark and set aside. Then, press your Versamark pad on the tag, sprinkle with copper embossing powder, heat until melted. While still hot, add more copper powder, heat.....repeat this for a total of three time. On the last time, while the powder is still melty, press your stamp into it and let it cool. The Versamark on the stamp will keep it from sticking in the embossing powder. Once you remove the stamp, the image will be pressed into the powder. Cool Stuff!!
Instructions/pictures are in the November issue of Creating Keepsakes.
From looking at the tag, I think they used layering on the tag with embossing powder and heating it everytime they added another layer.
On the last layer of the embossing process while it is still hot, they stamped the image on the tag.
It easy to do, you just have to be quick when you stamp while the embossed area is still hot.
