I'm really excited on being here, I have recently just started stamping and I:m having a blast. I do need some help big time thought, I can't for the life of me get my brayer to do what I see in my mine , I'm trying to have the effect of 3-4 colors on a 4 by 5 piece of glossy paper spready about a inch a part in color going upwards , what mine looks like is a big mess the colors are there but they are very close together and look messy. I need a video on how to get this effect does anyone have any ideas?
Welcome to SCS, Cathy!!!! So glad you found us.
I'll try with the brayer question.....are you trying to have white glossy show in between each color? You might be better sponging to get that effect.
I always blend the colors each into the other a bit by going over and over with the brayer rolling in one direction only until the color is as ddense as I want it. Is there a particular card in the gallery you could direct us to.
Anyway.......enjoy getting familiar with the site. Maybe someone will be along to answer your brayer question better.

I think the effect you have seen with the brayer was done with a spectrum pad... it's a rectangular shaped pad with several (I think 5) little inkpads on it. When you ink your brayer with it, you will get a rainbow effect.
Enjoy your stay here at SCS!

If you want more help & replies about the brayer, go to the Stamping 101 Forum and post there. Or even do a search under that forum and see if another person has asked about brayers that may help also.
Have fun! Don't give up, keep asking until you figure out what the problem is. Sorry I can't help, I'm fairly new too and don't even have a brayer yet. LOL.
