This is the coolest thing! She made rockin ribbon storage out of a kitchen drawer! Check it out. I have a similar thing that I got online. It's a bit wider, but same concept with the dowel rods through the sides. Anyway. check it out!
YAY!!!! How cool! We just took out some drawers out of our kitchen to put in a dishwasher... Hmmmm I wonder what else I can make out of the drawers????
I have 2 or 3 drawers from my bathroom that I don't need. I was just going to throw them out. If someone wants them, I'll be happy to send them to you -- just pay for the shipping.
How freakin cool is that... we just redid bathroom cabinets and I had a drawer sitting here and put in the dumpster outside yesterday... I'll be back on later.. gotta go dumpster diving!!!

I converted a drawer in my stamp room like this. It allows me to keep my ribbon out of the sunlight and keeps dust off the ribbon spools too. The hard part was finding a drawer deep enough to hold the grosgrain ribbon spools so the drawer would shut.

My dh did a similar thing for me but used a small book shelf instead of a drawer. It sits on the floor. The bottom 2 shelves are still in, until i get more ribbon.
I;d like to use a drawer in a storage of some type, i woudl liek for them to be out of site.
I like the idea of re-using a drawer for holding our stamp stuff.
If you don't have one and can't find one, You might be able to find them at a Local Yard sale. this coming spring.
Something else I thought of was using a Chester drawer.
And the you could also re-use the chest without the drawers in it. Just add ply-wood to inside of the chest,
Where the drawers use to be.
This way you would have two new uses from that one item.
Just a thought.....My dh does stuff like this all the time.
In fact I have a corner desk unit in my laundry area, that I use for storage, The drawers are missing. So it works out great for us.
