A friend of mine and I were talking about this yesterday, about how expensive those pages were. But if you think about the time she's probably devoted to that one double page spread, that's not a lot of money when you break it down into an hourly amount. If it takes her a month to create, that's only $760 per month, which doesn't pay many bills.
I agree with chattiekathie, they're very beautiful, but when scrapping, the pictures should stand out and be the art. Just my opinion. She is very talented.
I agree with this!
BUT seriously! If someone wants to pay me $700+ for gluin' some chipboard to a piece of 12X12 cardstock, then LET 'EM!
at that price range, what you are really paying for though, is her artwork. I think people that would spend THAT much on a pre-made scrapbook page, look at the page at being the centerpoint. While looking at the detail in her pages, I was thinking "Dang! Someone better have some absolutly fabulous and simple photos to go in this thing!"
Yeah, I am amazed also. Pretty layouts, great work, but too busy for pictures. And honestly, not $700+ to me! Even if I had it I wouldn't spend that much on 2 pages. I don't think I would even spend $50!!! I am cheap, yes!
Hello,
I remembered the earlier thread about the scrapbook layout that sold on ebay for $760. The seller has another layout listed and it's not as good as the first one but it is still, WOW!!!
I thought that some people would like to watch this auction to see how much she will get for this one. I think it will be at least $300.
WOW!!! Maybe I should try making some and see if they'll sell on ebay! If it takes her a few days per page (assuming she doesn't have another job) then that's not too bad at all!!!!
Holey Moley!!!! I totally agree- I mean if I can make SU! cards I can totally do that- I still don't understand paying $760 for ONE layout- INSANE IN THE MEMBRANE!!!!
I agree that her pages are works of art. That said, I would not want to use them in a scrapbook. They are SO busy that you wouldn't even see the pictures on them - it would almost defeat the purpose of scrapbooking, IMHO.
I am in total agreement. Granted these pages are beautiful as art by themselves I, too, would never put photos on them. Who will even see the photos of my kids when there is so many other things to notice instead?

I saw her last one and it was gorgeous as this one is. I would love to know how long it actually took her to create this. It boggles my mind. I wouldn't have the patience (or talent) I'm sure LOL!
It's taken me almost two weeks and I'm not even close to finish my case of it.
I have been watching her pages for about a year now, I lvoe to see what she creates. I emailed her a while back and just asked her to tell me about herself! She creates the pages to sell on ebay as she creates pages for her own album. She said time it takes varies on all of them, but usually 2-3 hours. She said she has no idea why she is so successful on ebay but feels very blessed by it! SHe also said that when people try to copy her work and sell it, it doens't do as well. When people follow thier own personal style those are the pages that sell the best!
Thought you might like to know...she was very flattered that I emailed her to tell her how impressed I was, not many people email back but she did and was extremely nice!

I've also emailed her a few times; she's very nice. In fact, I emailed her this morning to ask how long it takes her to complete a layout and she responded saying 5-10 days.
she is beyond amazing! i saw the first auction on another thread, and i just love all her attention to detail. seriously, people who say that cardmaking/scarpbooking isn't an art are just not all there!

Wow, $700 plus.... I guess I'm too Midwestern-thrifty of a gal to even think that that is funny. It is phenomenal what people spend their money on.
When I think of the things I have paid seven hundred dollars for in my life.... a used truck as our second vehicle....
my daughter's broken bone last month...
a refrigerator when our old one gave up the ghost...
yep, a scrapbook layout is NOT amongst those things and never will be.

My DH just spent $388 for a XBox 360 (I'm sure he'll spend more money this weekend on games), $175 for a Steve Yzerman rookie card (rated 10 out of 10) and $80 on another Steve Yzerman rookie card (rated 9 out of 10). That's $643. All I got was $100 to play with last week. Maybe I'll show him the auction and tell him I want it (not really, I can spend $500 many other ways, like rubber, rubber and more rubber!!)

I wonder why the bidders' identities need to be 'protected.' They're listed as Bidder 1, 2, 3, etc. Her work is beautiful, but I am glad that I'm not at all interested in buying her work. I'm much more a fan of the "Clean and Simple" approach.

I wondered that too but it says on one of e-bay's pages that e-bay has put in this new format to protect bidders.

Ok, I saw that someone else posted some of what I was thinking. The pages are much too busy to add photos to. Her pages are detailed and gorgeous but childlike to me...more animated and not adult pages. Everything reminds me of children's books. Does anyone else see this? Anyway, she definitely puts alot of time into her creations and they are quite stunning but just not my style. And SO NOT worth 300-700+...that is just CRAZY! Gotta give a girl props for making so much money doing something she loves though...and her story is really sweet. Plus, you can tell by her All About Me info that she is a true sweetheart.

But those pages are absolutely amazing!!
Well, being a SAHM that's more than I make, & it would sure pay a lot of bills for us!!!
I've never ever made a scrapbook page, but maybe it's time I tried
