Oh My I thought I missed another one!! I am open to any of thoes dates!! I'm in Pleasant Grove so Utah County sounds great to me and I will definately be there wherever you hold it. The first few weeks of April are pretty busy for me Easter, Scrapbook Expo, Church Retreat, so I'd prefer any of the May dates, but what the heck, I could convince my DH that I NEED 3 weeks in a row for the girls!!
I'll keep watching to see what you decide, and catering sounds heavenly.
I guess I should start by introducing myself. I am a SAHM of 5 children, ages 11, 10, 9, 5, & 4. I became a DEMO the end of November and would love to meet other people. I have never done swaps or anything, so I would need some explaining of what I need to do in order to participate in the get to gether. I would love to join you all and meet new people. I am in Stampin' Up!'s backyard (well, almost) so I am at the end of SL county and real close to Utah county. I have a friend that I would love to bring a long as well if she can make it.
For those of you who are new, here is a description of what a shoebox swap is:
All cards are to be full cards.
Each person will need to bring enough supplies for everyone to make their cards including all cardstock, stamps, inks, embellishments, tools, etc.
Each person is also asked to bring their own adhesive to use on all the projects we make. (You will take your adhesive with you when you go from shoebox to shoebox.)
Please make sure all of your supplies (stamps, ink pads, scissors, punches, etc.) are labeled with either your name or initials, so we all go home with the stuff we brought.
We should have power outlets and plenty of room so if you want to do embossing on your card, etc., thats great.
Door prizes??- Sure, if you want to bring one, please do so that day and we will have drawings throughout the event! You don't have to if you don't want to. Either way is fine.
We will the directions to the place closer to the event. We still don't know which place we're getting just yet!
This is going to be tricky - - the poll is running neck-in-neck for three of those dates right now. Hopefully we'll get some more to sign up, and break the tie!!
we are going to have lots of room - - seriously think about joining us, okay? Go down the thread to see what we're talking about! email me or pm me if you have any questions......
I put May 19th. But could easily be swayed towards April 28th or May 5th. May 12th is "right out" for me.
Melisa
Yes, I think because of Mother's Day being the next day, this is not going to be a good date for a lot of people! I didn't realize that when I posted the dates for the poll . . .
I'm so excited. I can't wait to come to another one. April 28th or May 5th is best for me. With 5 kids, the last couple weeks of school are sometimes very hectic. Tanya really wants to come too. Wear in Pleasant Grove are you thinking about. I live in Pleasant Grove.
I'm impressed you have your project done. Mine is done in my head, but you never know if it's going to turn out how you hope ( at least in my case). I'm excited to see everyone again and maybe even make some more freinds.
YuRee,
How sad for you and your stamps!
I had plenty of play time this past weekend, so I tried a couple of new ideas. I hope it works out that you can come!
Melisa
( I am excited. It's so fun to be just a stamper sometimes and not the demo!)
OK...the poll is officially closed....with a winning date of May 19th. It was a close race!!! We have reserved the Flying J Timpanogos Room from 10-3. Lunch buffet goes from 11-4 and the cost is $7.99. Drinks are $1.79 for sodas with free refills. $1.99 juice--non refillable; milk $1.79 non-refillable; $1.49 coffee/cocoa free refills. We also will be charged a 15% gratutity on buffet/drinks. As long as we are all purchasing a meal--they won't charge us for the use of a room...so please help us out there and plan to eat! They will have a server that will be there only to help us...and she'll do all the clean up, etc! The "theme" of Saturday's lunches is Italian day.
So..........now we'll need to start getting a head count so we can tell them how many to expect. You can PM me or just post here if you want. Thanks!
Ooops.....Flying J is a truck stop in Springville, UT. The phone book says exit 265...but I'm going to double check that as UDOT changed all the exit signs...what...a year or so ago and messed everything up! Don't worry about the truck stop thing....it's a nice place and we'll have lots of fun. The Timpanogos room is the largest room they have upstairs. We picked this spot because it is RIGHT off the freeway---so nobody will get lost!
May 19th is my DD's bday. We will have family in town & a big bday party on that day. So, I will not be able to make it this time. Hope y'all have fun, though.
As I drove by today---I noticed that there is a nice Best Western just by where we'll be meeting....just in case someone is coming in from out of town and needs to stay overnight.
I think we need to either start a new thread or update the 1st post to reflect the decision.. It took me a few minutes to even find the information.. I have others that might be interested but it needs to be easier to find the information. . .
Also think we need to rename because it is no longer a Northern Utah Swap...
Yes, this is what Missi and I were discussing yesterday. I was just trying to figure out HOW to do it. So the new thread has been going awhile, and here's the link to it: Forums at Splitcoaststampers
I'm so excited about this. I was at the scrapbook expo yesterday and I sat with some of my fellow stampers with split coast. I"m still very new to this website and they were telling me about this event. I would love to join if you'll have me. Just because I'm green with all this. How do I know the times and what I need to bring? Thanks
Ruth
