Today I am requesting prayers.
Mom has depressed and stating that she has nothing left to live for and would be happy if she died. Nothing I say or do seems to help. I did take her to the Doctor and she told the doctor that she would not take any more medicine or participate in any PT, etc. She was done.
Mom's next youngest sibling (Wayne) died today of Lung cancer that has spread throughout his entire body.
My brother Roger's MIL (Norma) has been diagonosed with Ovarian Cancer and given 3 months max.
I know this is all God's will and that for Uncle Wayne, it is a blessing that he no longer is suffering but is at peace. I pray that Norma will not suffer too much before she goes home and that my SIL can handle it. She is staying with her mother to take care of her.

Oh gosh Robin, you sure have your plate full there don't you. I pray she gets out of that feeling I dealt with that with my father-in-law for years and after listening to it for years it just starts to wear you down. You want to help them out so bad but if they don't listen to you, there just isn't much you can do. I will keep you and your mom in my prayers. Diane D.
Robyn - You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers, what you're going through has to be one of the hardest things that anyone ever has to. Stay positive and make each day a terrifc one! (If anyone can, it's YOU!)
My heart goes out to you, as I've been there/done that with my parents. If your mother is otherwise in good health, tell her that she still has YOU to live for, and you'd be lost without her. It sounds like she is really depressed, and she doesn't think anyone would miss her if she was gone.
My prayers go out to you and your mother.
Thanks for all the well wishes everyone. We are taking one day at a time and thanking the Lord that our lives are a lot better than what they could be like and we need to count our blessings, not our troubles.

To all: My home has been sold (to a darling couple who are expecting their first baby) and I'm now an apartment dweller. Culture shock, moving trauma and excitement all rolled into one. It's a teeny tiny place and I only plan to be here for about a year, but the idea of moving again ... oh my!

Sorry, I am not availalbe on the 2nd--I am taking a brayer class in Illinois from Michelle Zindorf. She makes awesome cards with brayers and travels all over the US to teach classes. I think I signed up for this back in March or April as they fill up fast.
Just be ready to spill when you get back Barb, my dear.

October 2nd is World Card Making Day. You are supposed to stamp that day. Some stores have gatherings....other gatherings are just friends getting together. I just thought that maybe we could pull something together. More infor found HERE. Most stamp magazine sites have info and ideas also.
I am looking into my crystal ball and I see Barb teaching a class on Brayering when she returns.,

What a great idea! I now live just around the corner from a LSS with a nice work area ... just a thought. Does a gathering in Madtown sound like fun (this place is just behind East Towne, and not far from the I-90-94 and Hwy 151 intersection.)? I think I could be swayed into just about anything, as long as it's pretty gentle on the pocketbook.
Hey Elaine, hope all is well with you.

Think we could call Gina and ask her to be OPEN so we can shop first?

Yeah ... I think Gina's really into her online stuff and not so much the brick and mortar thing. Did you hear she's doing a once a month TV spot (wkow I think)?
Emily, I'm on the east side of Madison now ... spitting distance from Micheal's, Joann's and the Scrapbook Memories. Ruh roh! (Scrapbook Memories is the place with the work space that I was thinking might be fun for a gathering. It's the same place I think you were thinking about checking out a short while ago and I told you it wasn't much of a store for stampers. It's really changed over the last while ... lotta stamps and toys!)

My only thought, for planning purposes, is that you might want to check to make sure they don't have something planned themselves for that day!

Good thought ... I'll let y'all know what I find out.

I was invited to an event with one of the Stampin' Up girls that I know. But she is an hour in the opposite direction. Hmmmmm---- decisions, decisions!!!
Would we do something like a shoebox swap???? Just wondering???

Suggestion: I live in a mobil home park (between I-94 and Hy 18 off of Hy F, Sullivan) and we have a community center (right behind my home) that I could see about getting for the day (free). We could do a shoebox swap or just work on whatever we want.

Hi ladies,
Oct. 2 is going to be a busy day at Scrapbook Memories. They're having an open house with demos & fun stuff. More to come in their newsletter. Here's the website: Welcome To Scrapbook & Stamping Memories!
My mistake, they do NOT have a work space (years ago they used to, but now it's been taken over by stamps). They DO have a small back room that up to 8 can work/have a class in, but it's a tight 8 (per the gal at the desk I spoke with today). They would consider a crop night out in the store as well. They're very open to a gathering (not on the 2nd) but dates need to be coordinated with staff who would be taking it on as an 'extra'.
Robyn, I like the price of 'free'! I'm not up for a swap, but a time to work on projects and hang out with fellow stampers sounds like fun. How does a pot luck lunch/dinner in there sound?
I'd be happy gathering in either place, Madison or Sullivan.

What do you think, Robyn? 9/10 - 12ish? 3 - 6ish?
Is there a fridge available (I'm thinking about salads)? Is there a place for a crock pot? (I have some yummy crock pot possibilities) Hmmmm ... this could really turn into a fun foodie event!

Are you guys still talking about doing this on the 2nd? I would love to have work time also, like we did that time in Madison at Archivers. The swap part we did that time could be optional.

Yep, still talking about the 2nd.
Who'd be up for a technique swap in Madison in early November? OR we could do an Archivers scrap night (I'll go look up the link for that, unless Emily beats me to it. We went to one of those, it was a lot of fun. No surprise, I couldn't last the whole night, but it was fun while I lasted. )

They're held every Fri & Sat evening, 5 - 11 pm. You bring your own projects, but there are folk who can help you with techniques and equipment (lots of die cutting stuff). When Emily, Martha & I went, they had snackies and pizza and door prizes. It was a lot of fun.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but they changed that around. Now it's just crop night. You pay $5, get it back to spend that night, but no dinner. (I don't know WHO was clamoring for that change, but whatever.) Which isn't to say we couldn't still get together for dinner (maybe Archiver's will let us have something delivered!) and a crop, just that all Archiver's is gonna give us is tables.
Jean and everyone else:
I was thinking that I would have the place open from 9 - 6, and plan lunch around noon. Come when you can, stay as long as you want and leave when you have to.
I liked the suggestion of a Pot Luck. The building is not fancy but there are outlets, fridge, tables, chairs, restroom(s). There is a deposit, but if the place is left clean and undamaged, the total deposit is refunded.
Barb and everyone else: I was thinking of letting everyone just work on what they wanted to work on and visit. No Shoebox. If you saw something that someone else was doing and wanted to learn it, you could work that out between you.

Robyn, Great plan! Look for me 11ish and heading out 2ish. I'll bring a fruit salad and sloppy joes. Anyone up for car pooling?
