Had a great day yesterday. So nice to see so many of you there. I couldn't believe all the beautiful cards and things I came home with.
Good time, good food, good friends, good items...what more could we want!

Now to start working on things for the next event.

Working on things for the next event that is. I found another Mexican Recipe that is a favorite at our house but am only going to make one card for the exchange. Maybe I'll print out copies of the second recipe to share. I am SO excited and can't wait till the big day! We always have so much fun together.

I went to Scrapbook and Stamping Memories in Janesville today and everything was 50% off. They still had a pretty good selection of paper, ribbons and stamps--not too much left in tools and many of their fixtures had sold tags on them--But, it still is worth the trip. I am not sure if they will go more than 50%. I also stopped at Serindepity in Waukesha and they look like they have sold very little--looks the same as it usually does. 15% off probably has not attacted big crowds yet, though there were 3 or 4 others in the store when I was there. I did not go to Crackerbox Palace though. So sad to see these stores go away.............................

Hey everyone, it's a snowy, blowy, wintry day here along the Mississippi. A great day to snuggle in and make St. Patrick's day cards. My friends and family like to shake it up big at the grand Prairie du Chien St. Pat's day celebration, so I've taken to sending out cards.
It's a great way to welcome in spring. We'll be a dancing to the "Wind In The Barley" band;)

Hi all,

Last year information was posted about the CHA in Chicago in this forum. Below is the site for info for the July show. If I am understanding it correctly these are the changes: 1) craft show is being combined with a jewelry show 2) it is 4 days for public starting on Thursday July 21-Sunday July 24 3) no entrance fee, just sign up to get complimentary admission ticket 4) no children under 16 allowed in this year

There is also a tab at this site that lists area hotels that are offering reduced prices for rooms. If you call the hotel YOU MUST mention the "group" name the hotel has listed (example: Embassy has listed "jewelry, fashion and accessories") in order to get the cheaper rate. They are good rates. Note too, that the Embassy says rooms are sold out, but I think that's for the April jewelry show and not the summer CHA. If you are interested in a particular hotel, I would definitely recommend calling them personally.

Anyway, thought I would share in case anyone is thinking about attending.

Oh, one more thing about registration for the CHA. You register as a buyer/attendee and one of the required fields is a business name. My friend and I just made one up - be creative! ;)

Sorry for any confusion! The site I listed says that the CHA is "partnering" with the jewelry/fashion/accessory show and offering a "streamlined" craft supershow. However, it sounds as if the CHA is actually BEFORE the days I listed.

I was wondering if anyone has any good inside info on what the CHA streamlined version on 21-24 may be like in Chicago? (worth attending or no?) Or has anyone ever attended or heard anything about the jewelry/fashion/accessory show they are "partnering" with?

I know that Papertrey Ink is going to attend some (all?) of the 21-24, according to one of the owners last month. I have no word on the jewelry partner.

Anything prior to that is not open to the public.
