I use the clear packing tape and just go over the stamp with that a few times. Tends to take the shiny residue away.

Having a different style stamp positioner I found this tutorial very helpful. Now I can explain how easy it is to use the stamp-a-ma-jig.

Do you hae Jac paper? Like double sided tape only in light cardstock.
You can draw and then cut out any shapes you want eg. waves. Peel the back off and lay onto the cardstock then take the top...

I agree with all the advice you have been given The most important point though, is to use gloss cardstock or paper. It will look pretty blaaah unless you use gloss paper

I would only use these products together as a backgound paper. As soon as you applied heat the polish would melt/blead and obliterate the effect you wanted to achieve.

If you work zigzag style from top to bottom and then from side to side gently squeezing as you go you should get a 'good' coverage. Then take a plastic teaspoon or one of your stamps and rub this...

I have used the glue dots, vellum tape etc. with the xyron proving the better form of direct adhesion....However, I still come back to brads or eyelets to give vellum that 'finished' look

I always store mine upside down and have never had a problem with leakage.
When ink pads are getting a bit old if you store them upside down you will get a bit more life out of them.

Cut the ribbon the length you require..allowing for bows etc.
Cut your ribbon in half and only tape about an inch behind the cardstock using glue dots or double sided tape.

Why don't you just use insert to cover all the odd bits and pieces that may happen to show through to the inside of the card????
