I wouldn't use a 1" wire b/c you do want plenty of room for your project to move. Use a larger wire and the spacebar, if you have one. And, you can always take it out and redo it if you don't like it.

I've always used Tack'N'Peel. I only needed 1 package for all of my blocks. I've made all of my SU stamps UM by using this product. It has a strong hold.

It is supposed to be permanently on the wooden base. Wipe both the base and the back of the grid with alcohol, let dry and try adhering it again with a very strong glue (diamond glaze, gorilla glue)....

Anytime you punch acetate, page protectors or anything of that sort, punch it with a piece of cardstock. The same goes when you're using the Bind-It-All and these types of products.

Don't get me wrong, I love SU cardstock but not for things like this. Whenever I need to cut shapes or use my Wishblade, I use my cheaper/thinner cardstock. Try that and see if it helps, if you can...
