Sharon, when it starts to get a little dry (I always replace the lid, so it doesn't dry out, just like the bottle of Dries Clear I replace the needle asap), just add some misting of water from your mister bottle. If supper dry you can add a few more drops, as much as needed, and literally stir it up. That only happened to me once, years ago. Now, every so often after a heavy use time, I just mist it, close it up, and I'm good as new next time.
I started marking the date I opened a jar, just to see how long it lasts. I have averaged 8 to 10 months - and I do use it lots!

Been gluing die cut stacks - I've used Liquitex Gloss Gel, Mono Multi in the green bottle, Xyron and Gina K Connect.
I prefer Gina K Connect for that task. It's quicker, easier and a little neater. If I get it where I don't want it, it just dries. Xyron is pretty good, but I'm saving Xyron for those die cuts without much real estate.
Mono Multi dries tacky if you get it where you don't want it. The gloss gel shows the gloss.
I had forgotten my purchase of the gloss gel for the specific purpose of gluing projects.
Now, I think I have enough stacked die cut leaves.

Cheryl, I have a frozen die - if you PM me, I will send you some die cuts for your Frozen page.
I am going on a Scrapbook retreat in October too! How fun several of us are. My Aunt does one every year in the mountains and several family members, friends and newbies come each year. I can't wait!
Hubby and I started a new hobby this weekend and we had so much fun! We are driving around visiting historical markers in Alabama and trying fun restaurants (we are focusing on haunted places, Indian history, and civil war history). We went to Florence Alabama, Friday and Saturday and totally enjoyed ourselves. My plan is to do the pages documenting it all in a VERY OLD, sturdy, vintage piano hinge book they were throwing away at work.
Off to see what you have all been doing!

Joyce Ann, what brand is the paste...I need to look for something similar as I mainly use the glue in the blue bottle or MP. I have given up on tape as I find that it doesn’t hold up after a few years and things start falling apart. Thanks for the tips ladies.

Nancy that sounds like fun and can’t wait to see your pages in your vintage book down the track. Enjoy.
We’ve had a busy few days so I’ve not been able to craft. Hopefully later this week I can get back to my pages...I’m having withdrawals.
Happy week and creating everyone

I still use my ATG. I put the red line sticky strip on the corners of each item and then do couple runs of ATG on the middle. It holds and if I must decide to move something later I can. Sticky strip holds - even years later, but you can pry it up if you're willing to destroy ONE thing - either the photo or the mat. Top or bottom?
I just finished a page using the Altenew Brush Alpha - of course I stacked it. Using Gina K Connect. I love creating my own "thickers".

A link to the paste - Yes
Gane is the manufacturer. There is an art store in Orlando, Sam Flax, that I go to when over there. Other art stores may carry it. I used to get it at Michaels with a coupon, but they stopped carrying lots of products.

I use glue or really cheap foam tape for everything - I got tired of the cost of tape and things falling off.

Nancy I’m intrigued. Do you type your journalling on your pages first and then add your BG etc or do you type it up and paste it on later. It looks seamless. Great pages.
Happy day everyone

Jayne, I do both! Some times I dip the page in ink and then send it through the printer, some times I do the opposite. Some times I type a separate section and add it to the page. Depends on what seems to work best at that time and how many mess ups I have before! LOL! But the truth.

Thanks Nancy...it all works for you as your pages are beautiful.
Happy Monday everyone

Joyce I found my Yes paste and re conditioned it. I need to start using it more. It really is very cost effective! Then there is the fact that I have it in my stash and want to use it up!!
Nancy, I had to laugh when you talked about mess ups on a page. I feel you are at your most creative when trying to cover up a "oops I didn't mean to do that"!! I have had to do it more than I care to admit! Sometimes not so successfully!!
A question/observation, I have used cheap foam tape before and found over time the sticky on that tape dries up completely and the whole thing falls apart. It happened on cards thankfully, so I discarded all the cheap tape. Granted it was quite awhile ago that I was using the tape...I just never wanted it to happen with my layouts.

I use the big roll of foam tape just like Jennifer McGuire. I put foam tape on the whole back of whatever I'm putting down. I put some Gina K Connect glue on the back of the tape. It gives me some wiggle room and the whole thing doesn't stick all at once! I know the glue is not going to fall apart, even if the foam tape might.
I want to get some foam sheets with sticky and use that for larger pieces like matted photos. I'll still put Gina K Connect glue on the back.
This may be why I use so much Gina K Connect. Now, I could put the Gloss Gel on the back of the larger pieces. There's an idea.

I do have tabs open but trying to pack my scrap room and have to get DH to a doctors appointment today. Not making much headway on leaving love! At least not yet.
Funny thing, I found 10 tubes wet glue an glue sticks that I pulled from my utility bag. I kept out all the glue sticks to try and use during the transition...that is my goal for the next 4 months!
My other goal is...when I unpack and I don't have a handy spot for my usable supplies I will purge and forget about them!!! I have to be ruthless!
Lots of chatter since I last stopped by.
I'm not posting this in the gallery because it's so tricky to take decent pics of pocket pages, but, I have spent the day trimming pictures, adding Project Life cards and journaling, and completed my December Daily 2016 album! My 2019 scrap goal included two books and this was one of them, so that's a win for me! It is 30 pages long and goes from Dec 1-31, tho not every single day is shown. It's an 6.5x8.5 size book.
I bought all the supplies in 2016 because it was my baby's first Christmas and I knew I wouldn't have time to scrap much. HA. Thank goodness this was my plan... I had separated all December pictures into a file of the day they were taken (on my computer) so I didn't have to figure that out. I actually printed the pictures about a year ago. I'll share much more of it on my blog in December, but in the meantime here are a few pictures of the book.

Nancy, I wanted to say thank you for putting one of my layouts in the favorite of the week thread.
I am still not use to seeing a scrap layout mentioned in the favorites although I am aware that SCS is changing, again, with a lot more scrappers than there use to be.
Tanya what a brilliant idea with great planning to purchase your supplies ahead of time knowing a new baby does not allow much in the way of scrapping while caring for a larger family! What a nice gift to yourself to enjoy now that your little one is a few years older...Congratulations on meeting your goal finishing your book.
So happy for you, Tanya! All that work on the 2016 Daily - such a joyful event to keep track of!
Sharon, I too believe there are more scrappers checking in on us. I frequently see a number of guests looking at those challenges we don't use anymore. Shame, wouldn't it be nice to offer those challenges again? Maybe we all could pitch in with that.

Happy Wednesday everyone. Tanya lovely to complete your 2016 December Daily. That would have been a lot of work. I purchased Ali Edwards 2018...or was it 2017 December Daily...I am so far behind on times I forget LOL...I still have the December Daily box upstairs and I have used some items out of it on other pages. As our boys are all grown up now and I've completed their albums up until they were 21 including family Xmas gatherings, I didn't think I would need another December Daily but I now can see how I can use the items on other pages, plus we always have xmas gatherings.
I fully intend to start a page today...I have it worked out in my head and just have to do it. It's to do with trees and xmas....LOL. Part of my travel page but I did get inspiration from an Ali Edwards video last Xmas so maybe I can make it work.
Happy scrapping everyone.

I think we went to the monthly VSBN style challenge because of low participation in the separate challenges. It was frustrating to work out a challenge and only have one person play along, KWIM? With one person posting multiple challenges every month, we seem to get better participation. But if we're having more people interested in the individual challenges, it would be great to look at starting up some of them again! I've been trying to keep the Variety Challenge going, but haven't been posting every month.
I keep trying to do the VSBN challenges this month but a couple of them seem to give me more trouble. I even cut a negative space for this layout but I could not get it worked in.
In hindsight I just thought of where I could have used it but then most it would not show. I will keep trying, I have more days in the month.
I wonder if some of the scrappers like to look thru the old challenges for a starting point that might work into what they what to scrap at the time instead of trying to come up with an idea to scrap within the perimeters of a challenge.
I know on the challenge I have subscribed to on FB are having challenges that just do not fit my style theme photos I work with so I have quit doing them. I have found if I force myself to complete a challenge just to do it I am seldom happy with the result and don't even like looking at the completed page!! Maybe I am beyond the point of wanting to be challenged into something I don't like.
All tho the more I think about where I "could" have placed that negative cut out the more I want to see if it will work!!! Good thing I have more photos to do a second page to this one!!!
I agree with how depressing it would be to create a challenge, put your whole heart and thought into making it exciting and fun, and then have extremely low participation.
I think it would be nice to have the “Home” page where the Weekly challenges are linked to actually go to a valid thread in the right forum. If it did, then, maybe the more people use them for quick inspiration, the more they would come around us.
I’m sure we could never come up with a perfect set of challenges that would please everyone. What inspires one person, can’t possibly work for everyone. We have to take it and apply to what works for us, when it works for us. So, even if they don’t join in on all, or even most, of our challenges, I’d like to have them chat with us, the community is inspiring in its self.
This month has not gone well for me to do much scrapping. There’s the good scrappy months and the low scrappy months.

Yes, I wish the home page would work for scrapping as well as it does for the other weekly card challenges. The links go to old challenges. When .i was hostess for the Scraplift challenge, they didn’t even have a link to it. Always bothered me.
Did any of you know there are other scrapbook chat forums on here? It would be nice if we were some how all together. I always wonder why that group doesn’t come over here and scrap with us. LOL just wonder...
Sharon I posted once on the other forum and told them about this thread. I think there’s a couple of different scrap threads and of course the digital one. I also wondered why everyone just didn’t go onto one thread and inspire/motivate each other.
I agree with Joyce Ann...hostesses will never be able to please everyone.
Personally, I’ve enjoyed the separate challenges within VSBN....numbers, shapes or using a particular item as they can be adapted for any LO. I also loved the stashbuster and word challenges as again they can be adapted to suit any page.
If I look at a challenge and it’s on a particular theme or specific colours that’s when I struggle, and particularly if I don’t have the right photos. When a challenge can be used in any themed LO then I’m more inclined to play. I am, however, learning to keep an open mind and look at ways I can make challenges work. I’m just one person and know hostesses have to put forward challenges for the majority.
I do agree that the Home page should link to the challenges and from memory I think Lela mentioned that she had requested this and nothing happened. Maybe we can ask Admin again?
I just love this thread for the friendship and motivation. No one judges if you don’t scrap and I like that. I will always look at the challenges and try and do what I can, when I can.
I appreciate all the hard work that is put in by the hostesses. My comments above are not in any way meant to ignore their hard work or dilute the fantastic challenges we have already had. I am truly grateful.... Thank you heaps.
Happy day everyone...and happy scrapping

No, I did not really know there were other scrap chat threads on here. I may have l known but did not find it to be as active (at the time) so did not go back. I knew there was a digi presences but never got into it much except when Wendy (do I have that right) was doing challenges, which has been a few years ago. I would adapt the digital progressive challenge into traditional terms.
You all said it much better about the challenges than I did. I was always appreciative of the hard work that goes into creating a challenge. I too like the VSBN concept of challenges.
I quit going to the front page to get to daily challenges...I do use it for VSBN.
I have to check out the other chat threads, I haven't been there in a long time.
Thank you for your comments on my December book. My little one is so thrilled to be in another scrapbook, haha! I even cheated ;) and ordered a chatbook that should be arriving today. We'll see what I think of it, but that puts her in a third book and that should help things. ;) She is SO disappointed that she isn't in the previous 17 years worth of scrapbooks around here...
I got another layout done yesterday for my son's book, and I haven't linked the other one I did yet, so here's those.
I too am very appreciative of all the effort put in to the different challenges. I seem to get the most use out of sketches, but I like when I need to think outside the box too. I have a few supplies pulled to keep going on September's VSBN.

Tonya, how cute that your littlest keeps track of how many books she is in!!
It's hard being the youngest and not seeing yourself in years worth of photos!!
I bet there will be a very special page in her book of what it meant to your family when she came into the "picture"... Sorry couldn't resist.

I also prefer more general challenges vs. themed ones, because if I don't have anything on a specific theme, then I feel like I can't play along. Although sometimes I am able to get creative and scrapbook something that is probably not at all what the hostess had in mind when she posted a challenge - LOL!

Since my two youngest came to us via the foster care system and I couldn't really post layouts of them for a long time, I'm just now getting around to scrapping the pictures from 2014 when they came to live with us. However, I did start their school albums last year, so they had them to enjoy, and they really seemed to like looking through the albums of years before they came. Hopefully they will enjoy their own photos as much!
Hello my dear scrappy friends! I've been thinking about scrapping, may not account for much, but you all are in my thoughts. Thanks for all the conversations and shares.
I gathered photos last night to take to my day crop on the 5th. It's almost an inch thick. Now I want to pull patterned papers and match up some solids to take. Still trying to decide what else to take.
My scrapbook page went live today on Sketches in Thyme blog if you want to check it out. I really should get a blog post on it, I suppose.

Joyce I have been meaning to ask, what do you use to apply the Yes paste to most of your pieces?
I have used a foam thing for the larger pieces but not sure what to use for the smaller things. Maybe a stiff square end paint brush?
I have been wanting to subscribe to the fan club again, I use to be a member but now they are asking me to download some app or other and I don't want to do that!!
I just want to pay my money with no added "stuff" to my computer!
Is there any other way besides just sending in a check?
Sharon, I apply the paste with a white, plastic pallet knife (Artist's Loft™ Plastic Palette Knife Set), from Michaels or Joanns. I have seen them in smaller sets than the one I see here. Would be great to just buy to one I like, which is the 4th from the left. Perfect size for spreading oh the edges of a piece.
I renew my fan club with PayPal. For years my DD and I have used it and never had a problem, nor have we ever heard of someone having a problem. Mine is linked to my checking account and I know that scares some folks. I've also heard you can set up a separate checking account with your bank that you only use for small amounts just for these types of purchases, keeping it separate from your "livelihood" account.
