OK Scrappin' Friends! It's time for us to move on to October!! Can you believe it? WOOHOO!! Let's start setting our October Scrappin' Goals.
If you weren't able to join us in Jan, Feb, Mar, Apr, May, June, July, August or September PLEASE come and play in October! We have a SCRAPPIN' Good Time!!
Scrappin' Challenge 2008
It was SO fun to see everyone's goals and ideas for completing LOTS of scrapbook pages in 2008! Many had a common theme - get more pages done, use what's in our stash, meet new scrapping friends, plan time/crops...
The whole goal of the challenge is to get lots of pages done, use more in our stash before buying new (well at least keep track) and save $$ at the same time which becomes scrapping budget $ for next year -- or vacation money or Holiday fund!
Scrappy Sisters,
I'm SURE you will all agree that we need to go back and add in our focus on our scrapping budgets! It's a good time of the year to start as we'll all want extra $$ for the holidays. Some of us have been using the "budget" idea since we started, others not so much. I decided it would be easier to split from the page goal posts. There are several ways to do this:
1. Set a $$ spending budget for the month & track your expenditures against budget set.
2. Match your scrapbook/stamping spending by putting the same amount away in savings that you spend on scrapbook/stamp stuff. This gives you extra $$ for either more scrap/stamp spending or something fun
3. Set a "Scrap to Spend" page goal. Come up with a goal to complete before you spend more $$ (for instance, "complete 25 pages before spending"
4. Do a combination or all of them!
Many times scrapping and stamping supply purchases are "impulse" buys. We want to encourage not only LOTS of Pages completed but creative, productive use of our STASH. Let's see if together we can be "CREATORS" and not just "COLLECTORS". (Thanks MP ;) )
You do NOT have to set a budget to play along with Scrappin' Goal Challenge. This is only for those of us who would like to play
I will post our Scrap Budgets here...let's see if we can band together and encourage everybody to keep on goal
Here's the Post you'll Find Each Monday's Sketch In. Remember, these sketches will be for "multiple" pictures as we all know those layouts are harder to complete so we put those off until last. Let's get those Birthday, Christmas, Graduation, Sports Layouts into our Scrapbooks!
Here's a VERY Fun Scraplift Challenge I found in the 12x12 Gallery.
SCS: Maalha has graciously agreed to allow us to use this as our October Scraplift Challenge layout!! Woohoo!!

Here's a VERY Fun Scraplift Challenge I found in the 12x12 Gallery.
SCS: Maalha has graciously agreed to allow us to use this as our October Scraplift Challenge layout!! Woohoo!!
I'm going to try to make up my pages from Sept + my monthly 12 = 21 PAGES! Never have done that many in a month but I have a few days open and w/ VSBN...gonna reach for it! Not setting a budget this month.
October is "Think Pink Breast Health Month" and I thought it would be a GREAT time for us to celebrate as Sisters and Friends. While holidays are fun, I thought it would be stressful for us to add in extra's during December, after all, holidays are about Family Memories.
So what better time to Celebrate Sisters and Friends than October! This month I encourage you to think of a Sister (or 2, or 3) on our Scrap thread that has encouraged, inspired, humored, prayed or advised you in some way and send her a card, scrapbook item, some stash, scrap "page kit" she can use and let her know you are thinking of her. We could all use some HAPPY MAIL and what better time to do this than now. It DOES NOT have to be big, as a matter of fact, I'm encouraging you to keep it small & thoughtful!
Since it's "Think Pink" month, add in a little pink ribbon, write the note in pink, pink envelope...something that reminds her that her health is important!
To make this a SURPRISE.....send me a PM asking for the Sister's address you want to send to. I have most and if not, I'll get it. Also, if you are willing to send to any sister on the thread, let me know that and I'll give you some ideas
Let's Celebrate Scrappy Sisters with a "Think Pink" round of Happy Mail!

I wanna play but I am new. I read the rules. I want to set a goal of 20 pages & a budget $30. I am so a collector but I want to be a creator. My only question is where do I post a link to my lo's and where do I find out about the mini challenges?

Hello and welcome! Just happened to be on and saw your question. You post your links to the layouts you create right here in this thread. Lela has been updating posts #4, #5, and #6 of this thread each week as a new mini challenge is added so that they are easy for us to find. Hope this helps and looking forward to scrapping with you.;)

So lovin' thinkin' PINK!
I had my own brush with breast cancer this year and mine turned out very well...
THANKS entirely to people who did the research, funded the research and cared about he people for whom the research is done. From intake to counselling to treatment and follow up, it has by far been my best medical experience (ironic, I know). Thank you, Lela, for bringing this up. I'm with Anavon - donating the savings is a great idea!
I'm gonna match funds for this one. It's my birthday month and traditionally I buy myself whatever I want (crassly insisting that cash is always the best gift!) and this year in honour of the fabulous care I've received and all the sista's out there in need of the same, I'm going to donate the same as I spend.

I just recently signed up to be an SU demo and will no doubt be one of my best customers so my spending goal for the month is $50.00 and my page goal is 20 pages. I am off to a crop this weekend, I have fabulous pictures to work with and some yummy paper. It should be a productive day.

I'm glad you like our "Think Pink" theme. I do too! I thought it was a GREAT idea by Anavon, I'm so glad she mentioned it! It's so easy to get busy and not give back to those who help others in time of need or continue to support research for cures! I'm planning to match mine too!

Hi all, after having a miserable month in September for scrapping (I surprisingly found my card-making and sewing mojo - so went with the flow) I'm going to set a small goal for October - and hopefully exceed it. I'm going to set 5 pages. I have no idea how many pages I've done so far this year, but I'd say around 50. Do I need to be more accurate than that? Or should I just start counting from now?
As far as the budget goes - I'm going to concentrate on my stash and spend nothing. That doesn't include photo development for me as I'm currently trying to print my backlog of digital photos so I have some recent photos to scrap.
I'd also like to thank everyone for sharing so many lovely layouts. It really helps to get me motivated to see some fabulous work shared here. Thanks again.
Hi girls!!! So glad to find you!!!! OCTOBER!!! WooHoo!!! My favorite month!!! Crazy about Halloween!!!!!!
Goal: 15 (already have a head start with 3 digi pages!!!! yippee!!!)
As for a budget: ZERO!!!! DS's Birthday is right around the corner...gotta save up for his big party!!!!
I counted my pages in my gallery and I have posted 55 so far this year....I will try to count up what is in my books over the weekend and let you know how many I have REALLY done.....THEN...maybe I can post the ones not here yet...
