I am competent this month because I hope to play Calvin Ball, it is a free fun event put on by Scrap Happy Alice Boll. ScrapHappy Home - ScrapHappy
Happy Scrappin' everyone!
or straight to it: Calvinball - ScrapHappy

Crooked Stamper 03-01-2024 01:01 AM

I can't believe it's March already! I did 25 pages in February so my YTD is 37! I'm going to keep my goal at 8. I'm hoping to do a few birthday cards & check out Calvin Ball.

PMR 03-01-2024 09:26 AM

I’m sticking to my goal of 10. We have a trip planned mid month. I’m crafting with friends tomorrow, I can’t decide if I want to scrap or make cards.

PMR 03-01-2024 09:28 AM

Lou Ann,
I am so excited for you finishing 2019! What a feeling!

Crooked Stamper 03-01-2024 09:57 AM

I need to start thinking about 2018. I don't have any of those photos printed so I'm hoping to match them with some of the kits. I just learned how to print collages so it gives me more size options!

We will never finish all our photos!!! We take too many!!! LOL But congratulations on getting so many done in February, Lou Ann!

Here is my first layout for March.
SBC24MAR Looking Back sm by smadson at Splitcoaststampers

PMR 03-01-2024 11:18 AM

Sharon,
I agree! I have too many photos!

daizees 03-04-2024 07:46 AM

Good morning! I only got 6 of 15 done in Feb - I had sick kids and then I got it. It was just a cold, but it took me out! I'm hoping to scrap during school today and am setting a goal of 12 for March. Happy to do more too, haha!

And now that it's March, winter has finally come, haha! This is day 3 of a snowstorm, which is the most that has hit my house all season, in spite of other areas getting lots of snow. It's just really odd because I live in the foothills and usually get more than those other areas, ha.

smadson 03-04-2024 08:49 AM

Sorry, you and your family have been ill, Tanya. Glad things are looking up , now. Happy scrapping!

Winter? Here, we have been having 60s, 70s, and even an 80 sprinkled here and there! Crazy weather!

PMR 03-04-2024 02:29 PM

Tanya,
I hope you are all on the mend. The colds have been rough this year.

our weather is crazy. We had very little snow. And it has been warm.

my craft group came over Saturday. We didn’t get much done. I did make 4 cards. I was putting together page kits. My bff and I talked today and need to slow down our kit buying and start our kit using. She is in the whole kit and kaboodle club and I’m in the paper wizard club. I told her we should take a few months off and see what happens. We are both huge Disney fans so we buy a ton!

I did buy a precision glue press, it makes using liquid glue so much easier. It is a bit pricey but I love it so far. I just bought it last week. There is a sb store a few hours from home. I went there for the first time while I was away with my mother.

daizees 03-05-2024 08:52 PM

Thank you all! I think we're okay now. :)
Since it was my birthday, I got a BUNCH of scrapbooking done while my youngest was at school. All three kiddos got a new layout, or two. And some of the pictures have been printed for over a decade....

PMR 03-06-2024 06:21 AM

Great pages Tanya. I have to get moving on some March pages. I just need to decide what I want to work on! That is my goal for this weekend, decide what is next.

daizees 03-06-2024 08:02 AM

Thank you Sharon!

Pia- back when we had rolls of film, I would print doubles and scrap one set (more or less) for my son and the other set for my husband and I. We switched to a digital camera about the same month our daughter was born, ha, and most of my scrapping was for each of them. Enter a third baby and my husband and I hardly have anything scrapped anymore, haha, and the kids get most of the pages. Altho for things like family vacations, those albums are "mine", with the *intent to scrap a little of trips for the kids... but that has never happened.... ha. Sometimes I'll do the same event for all three kids, but it depends, because then I get tired of it, ha.
That is one major plus to digital- I can make one page and print it four times and then we all have a copy of the highlights! But my digital software is super old now and no longer supported, so its buggy, and I haven't had time to learn anything else.

It comes down to the fact that my parents inherited literal boxes of photos with little to no information, and for me, scrapping is the best way to share the information behind the photos. So if my kids have books with journaling, they have the stories. And if I can't remember when I decide to scrap it for me, I can use their pages to remind me. HA!

smadson 03-06-2024 09:07 AM

Yes, Tanya, I have inherited boxes and boxes of photos my parents, grandparents and whoever else gave me their family photos! Ihave tried to scrap some of them, but it is just overwhelming.
Cant believe all you get done!

smadson 03-06-2024 11:56 AM

Another layout for me!
sbc24mar Redbud Trail sm by smadson at Splitcoaststampers

PMR 03-06-2024 04:18 PM

Tanya,
I have tons of pictures printed, yes the double sets. I hav3 to decide what to do with them. I have many of them digitally and some are in the scrapbooks and in photo albums too. It is overwhelming. My boys do have their own books with birthdays annd things that were just them, sports, music, school, etc. and then we have family books for holidays, trips etc. now the trip books are becoming just me and my husband. I never tried digital scrapping.

smadson 03-08-2024 07:09 PM

Another Layout for me. Just turned out another one for Calvinball and got 23 points, using up stash, camera, doily, tag, fussy cutting, handwriting, date, sequins, washi, glitter, embossing, stamping, and I don't know what all, and it is still not overly done.

PMR 03-13-2024 05:40 PM

I hope to get scrapping this weekend. I have been crafting, just haven’t finished any layouts. We are away next week and work is crazy so I have to squeeze some scrapping in.

Crooked Stamper 03-13-2024 05:58 PM

WOW, looks like everyone one has been busy!

SCS is acting strange for me. Today was the 1st time I've received a notification since 3/4! Glad they finally started. Looks like I've missed alot of chatter!

I've been busy this month & haven't scrapped at all! Our company is gone so now I should have time.

happy belated birthday Tanya!

smadson 03-15-2024 04:46 AM

Did everyone have a great Pi day yesterday? (3.14) Does anyone scrap it? I bet Tanya has with her kids, before. Or Pia, too. When my kids were young at home, I never knew about it. Then when grandkids were younger, our daughter always made a big deal about Pi day, used it as a teaching moment, as she home schooled. Even yesterday , with kids grown, she had made a pie for her and hubby to celebrate. We had pizza pie. :)

Happy Scrapping!

smadson 03-15-2024 04:49 AM

It is the 15th; reveal day for this month’s Dirty Dozen here at SCS.
And, I just noticed we are halfway through the month and I am halfway to my March goal! 5 of 10 done! YAY!

Hi Scrappy Friends! Hope March is treating you well! I had great Scrap MOJO going in Jan/Feb, I completed over 80 pages … then March and wham! Life got extremely busy at work, I haven’t been feeling great. On top of that, CTMH Announced they are closing. I’ve been demo/with them going on 17 years! All that seemed to send my MOJO on vacation. I’ve been busy re-organizing to try to help. I’ve started on making Page Kits for a Charity Crop I’m doing as one of the vendors. I have until next month to decide if I want to join SU! as they are buying the rites and some Products of CTMH for going forward. I still hope to get some scrapping done this month as April is all travel!

oh and my hubby bought me a Glue Press for my bday, I love it!

Hope all of you are doing well!

PMR 03-16-2024 05:03 AM

Sharon,
I never did a pi day layout, missed opportunity. My fil was a hs math teacher too, oops. My husband has a pi day pot luck at work every year.

Lela,
The glue press is awesome! I just got one. I am sorry that you are losing Ctmh. I love their papers and kits. It will be interesting to see what su offers.

I was hoping to scrap today but my head is so stuffy! I need to feel better we are going away tomorrow. We are going to Birmingham and then Fort Myers. We are going to a Red Sox spring training game for the first time. We are almost done packing.

smadson 03-16-2024 05:31 AM

Hi, Lela! I wondered what you would do when I read about CTMH. 17 years! Wow! So you might become a SU demo, maybe? Best of luck either way.

smadson 03-16-2024 05:33 AM

Pia, that sounds like quite a trip. How long will you be gone? Sounds like some good photo ops!

PMR 03-16-2024 06:24 AM

Sharon,
we aren’t going for long enough! We leave tomorrow, then we leave Birmingham Tuesday to fly to Florida. We head home Friday. The game is Thursday night. We have an Everglades tour booked for Wednesday. My husband wanted to come home Friday so we could have time at home too. And the Saturday flights were way too expensive. We had a huge credit from southwest from our trip last summer, we have just used it up. We are going to the great smoky mountains in June.

I did buy some sb stuff for the trip!

the cold meds I took are kicking in so I might actually be able to craft today.

sewflake 03-19-2024 05:56 AM

EEK, Here it is over half way thru the month and I have not even checked in! Life can get busy but I have no one that I am accountable to nor a job nor any place I need to be most days...unless you count the library for books and grocery store for food. We won't talk about buying food now days!!!
I do keep myself busy with being the in residence maid (of sorts) for my son and family. Meals ready after work and laundry done if there is any in the laundry room during the week. Thats about the extent...other than chicken care.
Anyway, I did 4 pages done over the weekend. Not many done this year since the Crop in January! Lots of cards but not many scrap pages.

Pia, I will wave you as you flyover from Birmingham to south Florida today...enjoy your time.

Lela, you have been on a scrap frenzy this year!! Sorry your haven't been feeling well and hope by now you are more your old self. I had heard that CTMH was dissolving...I know Creative Memories stopped for awhile but came back. It doesn't sound like a possibility in this case with SU buying CTMH rights.

I haven't put my layouts in my gallery yet, I will be doing that next.
Still no scrapping goal for the year. I am flying to Phoenix Arizona in September to attend a crop with other ladies I have met online at Scrapbook .com. This will be my 5th time meeting up with them and the first time going west to do so.

smadson 03-19-2024 07:14 AM

Wow, Sharon, you do have a busy life! And you still have time to go to crops. I love that you checked in with us to keep us updated! I miss some of our group when they don’t check in!

I am going to a junk journal retreat in a couple of weeks. So much to take, supplies to use, supplies to swap, food, clothes, etc. Now I remember why I don’t do retreats anymore! It was even more for scrapbooking retreats! LOL
Thinking of you today, Pia.

well actually I was an SU Demo before, 5 years. I had never picked up a stamp before that. My SU upline taught me stamping. When we moved to Ohio, I was really more into scrapbooking and that’s the only reason I switched at that time. so far, everything that has come out from SU! Has been very positive, and very reassuring, that they are going to add a scrapbooking line. I realize it’s going to take some time. As a maker if I sign up with SU! For May and June I actually get to Offer CTMH products they had planned for launch for May and June. They will be shipped and fulfilled by SU! This does give SU some time to continue to work on adding scrapbooking products.

We should know soon. I’m working on cards tonight as I’m teaching a Card Class Sunday
then headed to Philadelphia for meetings. April is my “Vacation/Crop” Month headed to (2) 4 day Crops. Hoping to finish my travel albums

*enabler alert* Epson PM400 is on sale today on Amazon and I’m thinking about ordering it. BTW, if you haven’t checked out, the glue press from MySweetPetunia , do it! It’s awesome.

Happy Scrapping!

This absolutely made me laugh out loud, hahaha! But also Thank you! :) Feels like a compliment.
We have "celebrated" Pi Day for at least 6 years now, but no, I never have scrapped it, haha. I'll add it to my list! haha! This year my husband made a key lime pie and a berry-buttermilk pie, and bought a half "Rhuberry" pie. SO yummy! We had "pizza pie" the night before and had leftovers on Pi Day. But we've also done pot pies other years. :)
I need to catch up here. I ended up getting pneumonia. :p 0/10 - do not recommend. :p I'm glad I had a break from being sick over my birthday, but I was sick for about a month. And now I'm on day two of a migraine. I'm so done. I want to play!! I hope you're all well!!

PMR 03-23-2024 04:57 AM

Tanya,
glad you are feeling better. I was miserable right before we left and worried about a sinus infection, but it was just a nasty head cold. We did have to buy more sinus meds 1/2 in to the trip.

We had a great vacation. Of course we came home to snow! The only rain was yesterday in Florida but it was our travel day so we didn’t mind so much. Between Alabama and Florida we went to historical landmarks, nature walks, an airboat ride to see alligators and some cool birds, and relaxed at the beach and pool. We went to a Red Sox game at Fenway south, it was so fun!

I hope to scrap today, so far I am at zero pages for march!

smadson 03-23-2024 06:44 AM

Tanya! So sorry you have been ill! We look forward to seeing you crafting again!

Pia, how fun to get to be at Finway. Is that what they call the Green Monster? I hear this being said by our tour guide in Boston with that fabulous accent! LOL
