Thanks so much - I've used it somewhat like this, but you really improved my lining it up. Carol or aka svenskaflicka

The SAMJ is my new favorite tool! I can't believe I was so "afraid" of it for so long. I use it all the time now.

Interesting that you use it "top and left"...
I always line mine up "bottom and left".

Good point about lefties, laderme... and wonderful idea with vellum, kimilou!

What would I do without my SAMJ? I shudder to think. I use it all the time. But, I think I'm the only one who uses it "upside down." I place it at the bottom of the acetate on the left. That way, I get a snug and exact fit with the stamp into the SAMJ corner. Am I weird? LOL

AussieL 06-03-2006 08:04 PM

Tutorial thanks

Having a different style stamp positioner I found this tutorial very helpful. Now I can explain how easy it is to use the stamp-a-ma-jig.
Cheers and thanks

alphabet

Hi there,

This is a great tutorial, guess I have to order one now :) A customer is wondering if it would be good for using with alphabet sets - I would assume yes, but does anyone have any direct experience?

Thanks,

Alison

Any time I use an alphabet set I use my SAMJ to position it.:)

ETA: If you notice in the catalog the SAMJ is shown with an alphabet set. Probably because they are what it is mostly used by scrappers with.

Theresa Romani 07-29-2006 03:58 PM

I have the old stamp positioner that SU sold before the SAMJ and so I have not demo'd it at any of my stamp clubs. After seeing this I will have to get the new one and start using it! I'm sure my ladies will love it!! Thanks for the tutorial.

Stamp-a-ma-jig is the coolest tool I've ever come across. I am such a picky stamper that I never stamp without it. Samj makes your cards look professional. I love it!!

One more time for the slower ones..

  Doubly confused. Hi. I've read and re-read this tutorial, and been shown it by my upline, so I finally bought one thinking my world would change. Here's what I'm not getting: let's use the letters, for example. Say I stamp my alphabet on the sheet, remove the sheet, la la, however it works...because every single stamp is not perfectly aligned on my wood block, how do I know how to reposition it on the cardstock when I remove the clear sheet? Does that make sense? let me put it in simple terms to see if i'm doing this right. Ok, i'm going to stamp a title, let's say the word 'hello'.
1. put down cardstock
2. put down clear sheet
3.line up stamps H,E,L,L,O by stamping each one on the plastic sheet
4. pick up the stamps, remove the plastic sheet but leave the samj positioned where it was ligned up
5. re-line up the stamps H,E,L,L,O according to where the samj has been left

Is this right? What am i not getting? what if one letter is positioned a hair higher on teh block than the other, so that you cannot line up all wood blocks perfectly? How does it correct for those little things? Grrrrr....i'd really like me titles to stop being so darn crooooooked.
